I've shot the compact 220 Sig and really like it...I can't find an H&K here to check out...I've come across a few extra bucks and I'm gonna blow it on one of these...Been wanting a nice compact hammer single/double action 45 for a while now...This will be used for ccw... Been wondering if the H&K's worth the extra bucks over the Sig...Still gotta get my hands on an H&K before I decide...Any input/info much appreciated...

I have both the HK-USPc .45 and the Sig p245 (the earlier version of the 220c). Both are fine pistols.

Sig 220c (p245)- accurate, light and reliable. It conceals well. Trigger is good in DA and SA. Magazine prices are reasonable and it will take its own 6 round mag and also the full size 220 8 round mags. It is my primary carry .45 pistol.

HK-USPc .45- accurate, light and reliable as well. The grip is longer than the 220c because it holds 8 rounds in the mag instead of the 6 in the 220c. Despite the longer grip it still conceals well. The DA trigger is terrible- long, heavy and stacks severely before the trigger breaks. The SA trigger is average. Mag prices are usually over $50 each. This is my primary sidearm when I go hiking or hunting as it's easier to clean all the sweat and dirt off the polymer frame than the 220c's aluminum frame. It's a good gun but not worth the extra money that it costs over other quality polymer framed pistols.

As with all purchases you need to handle and fire both options to see which fits you best. Good luck.

Oldandslow. I own both as well. But your comments are right on the money. You summed up the two guns perfectly.

So OP all I can say is, what he said.

I have the HK USP 45 Tactical and a SIG 220 Black Nitron. Hard to chose between the 2 since they are very different in my opinion. The HK is a BIG gun (not that the 220 is tiny though). I like the way the slide pulls back with relative ease. The SIG has tons of accessories to chose from, like I had a C-More red dot on it for a while. Both are high quality, reliable weapons. Hmmm...not planning to sell either at this point.... :) But you are looking at the compact versions so my 2 cents worth is not helping you a huge amount...but I dare say that the resale value of the SIG will be higher because its a lot more popular.

Thank you for the info...I'm not looking to sell once I purchase...Lately I've gotten down to letting go of what I don't shoot ...Now,If I don't carry it,I won't buy it...I'm looking for a compact 45 to carry...I've shot the Sig and really like it...I'd just like to try the H&K before I decide...I know they are both fine quality guns...

The HK45c is a big step forward ergonomically from the USP in my opinion. It's much easier to get a high grip on the gun.
