I'm considering the purchase of an H&K P2000sk pistol.

Anyone have any experience with this H&K firearm?

If I can find one I prefer a compact, 9mm, DA/SA, decocker version.

I have a Sig P239 & Walther P99c/AS, wonder how the H&K compares regarding accuracy, reliablility, etc.?

Thanks,

J. Pomeroy

I have a Walther P99c AS and an HK P200SK. They're pretty much equivalent in terms of reliability and accuracy. Both excellent. The HK is just a tiny bit longer in the grip. It's a wonderful pistol and a great addition to a collection, but it won't do anything the Walther can't do.

I have a Glock 26, Walther P99c and just got a new P2000sk as part of a trade. They are are close to one another in size. I have not put more than a couple of rounds through the P2000sk so far. The grip is a bit too short for my hand; the space between the grip extension and the bottom of the trigger guard is a bit too narrow for a comfortable grip. I just got some flat magazine plates that may help. They'll allow me to wrap my pinky underneath the grip the same way I grip my 26. I'll get a chance to try them at the range this week. P2000sk is a great gun. I hope I can make it fit.

Big Dave:

That's precisely the information I'm looking for.

Everyone who has fired my Walther P99c/AS wants to buy one. I prefer to own "different" pistols as opposed to several of the same model, so that's why I'm considering the H&K.

My other interest is a full size Walther P99/AS, but I just don't think I'd get much use out of it..

It's kinda more fun to have different pistols to compare to each other. I had a couple of Glock 26's in years past, and both my Sig P239, and my Walther P99c/AS are obviously more accurate than the Glocks.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Best Wishes,

J. Pomeroy

My P2Ksk is a 9mm decocker. It's one of the most comfortable pistols I've ever held and a great accurate shooter as well. It's one of 8 Hk's I shoot. Best price I found for one was from CDNN.

I have been carrying a P2000sk .40 with LEM trigger for the last couple months. I also found the grip extensions to be a bit uncomfortable, so I use a flat floorplate mag. It has been 100% reliable and is plenty accurate. The P2000sk has been a great carry gun so far.

I have P2000 instead. I shot through about 400 rounds so far. Its got LEM trigger set up DAO. Long trigger pull and it took little getting use to but it is every bit accurate as my Sig P228.

I really like the P2000sk...I like the grip - it's just big enough that my entire hand has something to hold on to, I like how it shoots & like all the HK's I've shot/own they're very reliable...I like'em!

Well... You see my decision.

I still sorta lust after a H&K P2000sk, but I'm gonna be wayy out of money for a while.

My reasons for buying a full size P99/AS instead:

1. I kept reading that the grip on the H&K was too short.
2. I kept reading about a concern for the right side slide release.
3. I simply couldn't find an H&K P2000sk to fondle and get a feel for.

4. I KNOW my P99c/AS is a zillion times more accurate than I am capable of taking advantage of.
5. I KNOW I love my P99c/AS and it's the best overall pistol package I've ever encountered.
6. My P99c/AS was lonely for family company.
7. I kinda liked the idea of a 15+1 P99 for home defense use.

Thanks for all the input... If I ever get close to having what it costs to buy an H&K P2000sk "I'LL BE BACK"! ;)

Best Wishes,

J. Pomeroy

You made the right decision simply because you are already familiar with the weapon.

And I bet it didn't cost a "bazillion" bucks either.

Let us know how it shoots!

Get an HK and you will never be sorry

I do not own an P2000,so I cannot speak about long term use, but I have shot one in 9mm, and it was a very nice gun. I do own, and love, a USP45, and I can say that HK quality is top notch. With very little care, my USP has gone almost 9000 rounds with only 1 failure, and that was a ruptured case. I have not broken any parts, it has never had to go to the doctor, the only thing that I did was to change the sights to night sights. And the trigger has gotten much better over the years, either that or I just got used to it

gudel:

My new P99/AS shoots like a dream, and I like having a full size and compact.

If I ever stumble up on a P2000sk I can hold and examine and find out I just can't live without one, I'll just go to the "bank of my bride".. She'll loan me the money and I'll buy the sucker.

I don't see any way the H&K can be any more accurate at self defense range than my Walthers..

I'll just put it on the back burner until I hold one.

Redhat:

I've only had time to run two magazines (2X15) thru my new full sized P99/AS, but it shoots just like my compact.. POA/POI.

I do all of my shooting from self defense range, (5-7 yards) and both of these Walthers, out of the box, were capable of putting them all in the black.

I'm 64, declining vision, shaky hands, but either of these Walthers will allow me to put rounds in center mass of any target at self defense range...

Absolutely the most accurate pistols right out of the box I've ever owned.

Well Sir,

That's great news. I am kinda curious why you would consider another type pistol when you already have what you like?

Then again, I have several, all different, and like them equally well!
Ain't it good to live in America!

Well, it would seem that I just like firearms. My Grandmother gave me a new 22cal Remington single shot rifle for my 12th birthday, and now 52 years later I'm still checking out new stuff...

And then I go thru revolver periods...

Of course all of this firearm buying means my bride and I haven't been able to fix up "the place" like we would like to do, but hey, it's home....:D

We meant to get that 'luminum sidin' up, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

And, to answer your question.

I have had a bunch of different firearms over the decades, and when younger I would often sell a good gun to buy a new "flavor of the month" firearm. I don't do that anymore. I got rid of all of my stuff I just didn't care for, kept what I do like, and keep an eye out for whatever new firearm might hit my fancy.

"Shipwreck" on the Walther forum kept extolling the virtues of the Walther P99 series of pistols until my curiousity got the better of me and I had my dealer order me one, without ever holding one first. I already had a P1, P5, and in the past a PP, so I like Walthers anyway. Surprisingly I found out the Walther P99c/AS in 9mm is just a fantastic pistol.

Later I read about the sub-compact H&K P2000sk and took an interest in one of those. However I kept reading about the short grip, and a potential problem with the r. side slide release and since I couldn't actually hold one in my tired old hands I ordered a full size P99/AS instead. I'm very happy with my new P99/AS, and I like the aspect of a 15+1 home defense pistol. :D

I'm still interested in the H&K, but doubt I'll get that much money saved up before something else catches my fancy, and I spend the money.. In fact I'm a bit curious about the new Bersa Thunder 380 Concealed Carry version. I already have a great Firestorm FS22, and Bersa Thunder 9/UC, so have a great deal of appreciation for what I think are underpriced and underrated pistols.

Funny, the Bersa Thunder 380/Firestorm 380 series of pistols were designed based on the best of the older Walther PP/PPK pistols. The Bersa Thunder 9 series of pistols were designed around the fine (and very pricy) Walther P88. Neat Walther connection.

Folks at Bersa/Firestorm headquarters should have their butts whipped for doing such a poor job of public relations/salesmanship on their products.

So, there you are... ;)

Best Wishes,

Nice looking collection and thanks for sharing.

I really like that place you got, now that's my idea of a house!

I'm currently in Texas but grew up to your north in SC. Sometimes I miss the trees!

What a gorgeous holster and setup. Who makes it?

I have found perfection by putting together a rig with it's components made by multiple manufacturers.

The holster is made by Matt Del Fatti. The model is an ISP-SS with slotted pad. It is made from hard rolled horsehide with sharkskin on the slotted pad.

The mag carrier is made by Milt Sparks. The model is a D-4C. This means that it is a double carrier with snap loops in the back.

The belt is made by Rafter S Gunleather. This belt is black sharkskin with a chrome buckle. (I own belts from Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, The Beltman and Wilderness.....this blows them all away)
