Redhat:
Well, it would seem that I just like firearms. My Grandmother gave me a new 22cal Remington single shot rifle for my 12th birthday, and now 52 years later I'm still checking out new stuff...
And then I go thru revolver periods...
Of course all of this firearm buying means my bride and I haven't been able to fix up "the place" like we would like to do, but hey, it's home....
We meant to get that 'luminum sidin' up, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet.
And, to answer your question.
I have had a bunch of different firearms over the decades, and when younger I would often sell a good gun to buy a new "flavor of the month" firearm. I don't do that anymore. I got rid of all of my stuff I just didn't care for, kept what I do like, and keep an eye out for whatever new firearm might hit my fancy.
"Shipwreck" on the Walther forum kept extolling the virtues of the Walther P99 series of pistols until my curiousity got the better of me and I had my dealer order me one, without ever holding one first. I already had a P1, P5, and in the past a PP, so I like Walthers anyway. Surprisingly I found out the Walther P99c/AS in 9mm is just a fantastic pistol.
Later I read about the sub-compact H&K P2000sk and took an interest in one of those. However I kept reading about the short grip, and a potential problem with the r. side slide release and since I couldn't actually hold one in my tired old hands I ordered a full size P99/AS instead. I'm very happy with my new P99/AS, and I like the aspect of a 15+1 home defense pistol.
I'm still interested in the H&K, but doubt I'll get that much money saved up before something else catches my fancy, and I spend the money.. In fact I'm a bit curious about the new Bersa Thunder 380 Concealed Carry version. I already have a great Firestorm FS22, and Bersa Thunder 9/UC, so have a great deal of appreciation for what I think are underpriced and underrated pistols.
Funny, the Bersa Thunder 380/Firestorm 380 series of pistols were designed based on the best of the older Walther PP/PPK pistols. The Bersa Thunder 9 series of pistols were designed around the fine (and very pricy) Walther P88. Neat Walther connection.
Folks at Bersa/Firestorm headquarters should have their butts whipped for doing such a poor job of public relations/salesmanship on their products.
So, there you are...
Best Wishes,
