H&K P2000SK versus Glock 26?

I'm considering either an H&K P2000SK or a Glock 26 for CCW and range use. I've shot the Glock 26 and really liked it and found it suprisingly accurate, while I've only held the P2000SK and thought it felt great. Both have good reputations. Any input appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly, my preference usually is w/ the HK but in this case and at this moment in time, I'd lean towards the Glock (Yeah, I can't believe I typed that!)

I've seen nice nice trigger on a Glock. Factory I guess they're OK, but this one had a reset point real far back so it was very nice. What's the other trigger like?

I prefer the HK P2000sk. I have one and it feels significantly better in my hand than the Glock 26. I do enjoy the LEM trigger as well but the Glock's trigger is nice. It will be easier to find parts for the Glock though. However the HK will be much easier for most people to handle since it is ambidextrous and it has better ergonomics.

I would go with the HK as it is an excellent gun overall and get a P2000 as a primary weapon.

I'd go with Glock, personally I think its more gun for the money. The problem with HK is that you have to pay extra for that little logo on the side that says H&K

I'm not a huge Glock fanatic but I would certainly choose them over HK any day. If HK's handguns were a little more reasonably priced and their customer relations were a little better I would probably own a P2000SK, I really love the design and feel of the gun, but I think its waaay overpriced. Go with the Glock and spend the extra money you would have spent on the P2000 and get some ammo, extra mags and a nice holster.

With a high two hand combat grip, I almost always depress the slide lock on the P2000 series, and therefore the slide never locks back. Not so with my G26, something to think about if you're a lefty.

i looked at these two models pretty seriously. My brother has the 26 and carries it, but for me, i just didnt like the feel of the glock. I came from a 1911 and the grip angle and ergonomics on the hk felt far better to me. The glock also just felt cheap and a not as well made. Size wise, i felt that these were functionally identical. In the end, i went with the hk, though it was more expensive. So far it has been flawless and carries well. Very accurate and looks great.

I had both guns. I sold the HK and still have the Glock. The grip of the HK was just a bit too short so my fingers felt cramped when I held it. This was due to the extended base plate. You can buy flat baseplates and I did give them a try. I also have never learned to love SA/DA triggers. If I were to buy another 2000sk I'd probably get a DA only model. Glock also won out because I like the fact that I can pretty much fix it myself if necessary and magazines are a bit cheaper.

Both are great guns a Glock 26 is sitting on my hip right now. For me it depends on caliber. in a 9mm it's a Glock all the way but in .40 I prefer the heavier HK & Sig's.

I have an HK P2000SK in 9mm. I was giving serious consideration to getting a G26 as well, but after shooting both, I decided to go with the H&K. It felt better in my hands, but that may be the result of having previously owned two other HKs - a USP (.45) and USP compact in .40 S&W.

The only downside I can see on the HK vs the Glock is that the slide on the HK is a tad thicker, making concealability more of a concern. Other than that, I like the HK better. Adjusting from DA to SA trigger pull isn't really an issue for me. It is for some people, but I actually prefer DA/SA.

I would go with the P2000sk.

That said, I like HK's and have several and carry one (USP45 Compact), so I am very comfortable with their ergonomics and controls. And I am comfortable with the DA/SA trigger action (not everyone does).

It really comes down to what you feel is most comfortable in your hands, and what you can most accurately put rounds on target with.

They are both nearly identical in terms of accuracy and reliability. Really, that can be said for almost any gun from HK, Sig, Glock, Walther, etc. In these modern times of computer design and high strength polymers, there really is no "best" with reliability or accuracy.

Pick what feels, looks and shoots best for you. Whatever you pick will be more than reliable and as accurate as you can shoot it.

That being said, I don't like how Glocks feel or look. I'd pick the HK.

I own an H&K P2000SK V2 LEM .40 cal and also a Glock 27 .40 cal. I couldn't even tell you which one I prefer. If I had to choose, at the moment I would say the Glock 27, simply because I practice more with it and can put a three round burst into a 5 inch group at 4 yards -- a good SD range. The H&K is extremely accurate and I would also trust my life to it. Feel them both in your hands and make a decision without hesitating. Just take one in your hand, line the sights up quickly, put it down, take the other in your hand, line up the sights quickly, and without thinking too much about it, decide. You will win either way. Just a pointer... if you decide on an H&K, I will recommend the Tucker "The Answer" holster, and if you get a Glock 27, a Milt Sparks VMII.

As you can see, the Tucker holster rides lower making it slightly easier to conceal for me. I am 5 ft 11 and weigh 170+ lbs.

These sights make the G27 a winner to me, they line up quickly in the day or at night.
