I am very much interested in the purchase of a H&K P7, but I would like to shoot one first before shelling out that kind of money. I have checked with most all of the gun ranges and shop in town and no one seem to rent them.

So I have turned to the only place I could think that is professional and friendly enough to ask a question.

Is there any one on THR that lives in the South Florida area, that has or knows someone that has a H&K P7 that I could meet to put a few rounds down range.

Please PM me if any one could assist me with this problem and we can workout the details from there.

Thanks

I am in north florida (jacksonville) and have a couple of them, so a bit distance. But for what its worth, i have never ever heard of anyone that has shot one that didnt like it.

Hello

Not to rain on the parade, but I didn't particularly care for mine. I would find myself relaxing (uncocking) the pistol between shots. Having said that I wish I wouldn't have sold it. It carried the best out of any gun I've ever had.

I vote for trying one before you plunk down the cash. I was lucky and got a lightly used M8 with the grind mark for $750. Unless you have the funds to make it a safe queen if you don't like it. I didn't at the time, foolishly I sold mine for a profit, now I can't find one under $1000.
Good luck

Find someone to let you try it. You will love it. Most do. If you take the plunge and buy one, you can almost always get your money back.

Come over to DFW and I'll hook you up.

I like the gun and when I get around to getting an IWB holster for it (and practice more) I intend to carry it.

But it is expensive for the basic function it provides so it is certainly resonable that you should shoot it before laying down the cash.

FWIW:

It's going to be difficult to find someone around with a P7 in a situation where he/she will have the time and inclination to go shooting with you..

I had wanted a P7M8 for years but could never afford one. Then CDNN got a batch of the German Gov't trade-ins P7 PSP's at a reasonable price so I ordered one, never having held or fired one before.

FANTASTIC pistol..
Amazing accuracy...

My recommendation is for you to just spring for one, "A" grade if you can afford it, (money well spent imo) and chances are you will love it.

IF you get it and decide it's just not for you I'll bet you can sell it locally with little difficulty. If you get the "A" grade you can probably sell it on one of the several HK forums and not lose any money.

I'm so pleased with my CDNN PSP I'm very close to using more of my children's inheritance to get another.. :D (I'm a senior citizen)..

I've owned firearms for over 50 years, and I've never been more pleased with any of them than I am the fine HK P7 PSP.

Best Wishes,

Ooooh, PX15, that's quite a great "plum" of a P7 you've got there!

Serioulsy, that's a beauty and a fine example. I can't imagine not liking the P7 series. I have an M8 and PSP and they are among my favorites.
