H&k Usp

I own two full sized - one in .45 and one in .40 S&W. I like both, but the .40 is just a bit more comfortable. The .45 is a tad large, but if it feels good in your hands, go for it. It is a quality firearm!

I have a USP-45 Expert and my only Hk pistol. It differs from the USP in that it has match trigger parts, adjustable trigger stop, adjustable rear sight, front target sight, extended slide and barrel w/O-ring, and extended floorplate on magazine. It is amazingly accurate and reliable. I stumbled on to it when a colleague sold it to me unfired with extra magazines. He got it and it turned into a safe queen for him. He's a Wilson 1911 guy.

The H&K USP

I had a H&K full size .45ACP for a short time, and while it was a wonderful
firearm in every respect; my West German SIG-SAUER .45 ACP P220A would
consistently out shoot the H&K. End result was, I sold it as it was just too
large for a CCW piece~! :scrutiny: ;) :D

Gudel, I'm only a half convert ;)

I cannot think of anything sexier and more proven than the m1911 frame pistols.

Ok lets get the 1911 vs HK USP war started.

Socalshooter,

It's funny you brought this up. I went to the range tonite to sight in my G17, and brought along my USP .45 because I remembered this thread. First time in a long time I didn't either a) bring out a 1911 b) only polymer pistols on the range.

I only brought a few rounds, around 20 to just toss through the USP .45 to see if I can still works. I didn't want to waste too much ammo.

Then of course, board member Kruzr comes up and tells me to run a few magazines through his Ed Brown Kobra carry. It used up the 20 rounds I brought.

Poor USP, another day gone by unshot. 1911s get all the fun :D

I have a USP .45 and I love it, some complain about the grip but it fits my hand like a glove. The controls I am used to, I also like where the magazine release is as to me it's very easy to eject a magazine quickly and reload a new one but that might be personal preference. It's pretty easy to clean the USP as well.

Have owned two along the way, sold my USP9 full-size eventually, but then ended up buying a USP 45 compact later. I like the design -- it's a series of compromises like all pistols, but has a number of features I like quite a bit like the external hammer and decocker/safety on the V1 actions.

Devil's advocate here

Maybe it's just me but I think they look like a dressed up Hi-Point. I know I will take heat for writing that but to me that's what they look like. They may be excellent shooters and have great reliability but just don't do it for me.
Of course I think the 1911 is the best looking gun out there with a nice SS 6 shooter from S&W right behind.

How does it resemble a hi-point in any possible way?

I can totally see the resemblence... I'm sure the HK is a fine weapon, but I'll stick with my XD. Hasn't failed yet and I put it through some abuse.

The perspective of the pic of the USP is all messed up. Look at the rest of the pics in this thread and you'll see that USP pic is unique. USPs look nothing like a Hi-point.

love mine,its my favorite .45.

you see black majik's photo....the flat plate magazines in his photo are what Im looking for.If you know where I can get some or the flat plate bottoms alone let me know because all I can find are the finger extended type.

I love my USPs. The perspective of the pic posted by battlehatch is a little off. The USP is tilited down which makes it look even more like the HP.

on a note I have always loved Bianchi UM series holsters.Just today I researched Bianchi and found their UM84II series fits USP's.

having the the standard military one,it fits not only the Beretta and 1911,but Glocks,P-38 and others as well.I bet the 84II will fit a variety of pistols also.
