No

357 mag bore size is .357 10mm is .401 so that leaves a custom barrel and that cost more then the rifle is worth .

If you want a 10mm in a handi-rifle, go with a .45 Colt or .454.

I know you want what you want, but if you can't have it. Get the next best thing.44

I like you sig quote also:
10mm is to .40 S&W
As .30-06 is to .308 win

You can have a stub barrel done in 10mm. A donor barrel, usually an H&R shotgun barrel in the case of pistol caliber projects, is cut off just the other side of the chamber and then the new barrel - a 10mm barrel in most common contours - is fitted to the H&R "Stub" (which retains the H&R locking lug) and then cut to accept a common H&R extractor. This can be done with virtually any caliber that operates below 65,000 psi chamber pressure, though for high pressure calibers, the donor stub should be from a Handi rifle barrel rather than a shotgun.

There are several gunsmiths experienced in these stub barrel projects. For more info, you may want to check in on the H&R Centerfire Rifle forum on Graybeard Outdoors as those are the real H&R gurus.

Out of my 20" Rossi 92 carbine, I can get up to 1900 fps from a 165 grain gas checked, cast Keith style SWC. I use Li'l Gun for rifles. I load 'em up to about 1850, 16.8 grains, and well within pressure limits. The .357 case holds a LOT of slow burning rifle appropriate powder. I don't think I can say that for 10mm. I would THINK, without proof, that .357 would out perform 10mm from a rifle length barrel with the right loads. .357 components are also easier to find and cheaper, usually. I can see no reason to own a 10mm single shot rifle vs a .357 magnum, but I guess that's just me, eh?

You can overload the .357 mag. for the Handi-rifle, but you want to be careful & not put them in your pistol.........

If you were going to ream, you can get a hand reamer from 4D (link above) to take you to 357 Max - a VERY popular ream for the 357 Handi and one that gives you a LOT of cartridge. As per above 35 Rem also an option or take it all the way to 356 Win for a round just shy of a serious Magnum.

All the guys who have gone 357 Max rave about it. You can still plink with cheap 38 Special, use factory 357 if needs be, and load 357 Max to a wide array of power. Basically, reamed to 357 Max, you have a a rifle that will take you from squirrel to moose.

Anything is possible with enough money. But in practical terms it is not possible due to the bullet size difference.

There are heavier bullet options which could be used with .357 reloading. Or if you really want to step it up then you could consider re-chambering to .35Remington and shooting gas checked cast .358 at 180 to 200gn bullets through the very slightly tight .357 bore.

The issue would be if the rifling twist is going to do a good job of stabilizing the heavier than usual bullets.

I have a factory-chambered H&R Single shot rifle in .357 Maximum. It's a whole lotta fun. I'm not sure I'd use it on a moose, like RPRNY suggests. But a whitetail deer? Absolutely.

For the cost of doing this conversion you might be better off just buying a T/C Contender in 10mm.
