H380 for .308 Win?

Are you kidding? 4480 f.p.s. out of a .308 Win. with a 168 gr. bullet? Is this a typo that should read 2480 f.p.s.?

Yup, tying to fast… Yea, I sure wish I could get 4480FPS, 2480 is correct, unfortunately.

When I firts bought my 308,I tried Varget,ww748,BLC2 and h380.It was right there with varget as far as accuracy goes.I was shooting 168 gr. Berger VLD's at the time.H380's a fine powder for not only 308,but a variety of rounds.Meters sooo nice through a measure too.

Great to have input from a fellow sailor! The Savage 99 .308 is most certainly on my "must have" list - I have yet to read anything bad about it.

RH: It is an awesome deer rifle. I don't hunt deer anymore, but I loved its handling characteristics. And it fit my fat face very well. I shot the life out of it, and had to have it headspaced, but it was a very solid gun. Much like the .45's we shot in the canoe club, right?

No, but there are plenty of used ones on the market, still in great condition. I see alot of them in gun shows and stores.
