Hey ya'll, this was my best day with my .308 in awhile, I'm very pleased with this performance.

The Rifle: Remington 700 SPS Tactical, .308, 20" heavy barrel, this thing is bad ass!.:D

100 yards, shooting off bipod, light winds, 80 degree's.

The handload: Nosler 168 HPBT, IMR-4895 at 44.5 grains, Rem case, CCI LR primer and and COL of 2.840".

1st group, lower left = 5/8", 5 shots
2nd group, lower right = 7/8", 5 shots
3rd group, center bull = 5/8", 5 shots
4th group, upper right = 1.75", 5 shots....damn flyer killed me, but its bound to happen.

I'm pretty sure its full length pillar bedding. I really like the feel of the stock, the recoil pad is first rate.

Took my .308 (CZ-550 Varmint) to the range today. Shot 12 3-shot groups. If I throw out the 2 fliers, all groups were under .6". Best 2 groups were with:

150gr Hornady SP
39.0 gr IMR-4064
Fed Case
CCI LR Primer
C.O.L. 2.81
Group size .40 "

Shot off a bench with sand bags. Scope is a Nikon 6-18 BuckMark. IMHO, the .308 can't be beat for accuracy and utility. Good shooting Redneck. I'm glad you had a good day. Got a box of 168gr Sierra M.K.'s today. Can't wait to try them.

I know some folks that shoot 3 shot groups....and if they threw out the 2 fliers, would claim they had one hold groups. :D

Redneck, that's some good shooting.

As for the bedding and in response to the guy that asked, I've had a couple of SPS Tacticals. The Hogue stock in NOT fully bedded. It is just pillar bedded. Still, I wouldn't put too much thought or worry into it. The stock works. There's really no need to mess with it, unless you just don't like the way it feels.
