I have struggled with finding a good carry position for my 7.5" Ruger BH while deer hunting from a elevated deer stand. I have a good leather rig, but it doesn't work too well over layers of hunting clothes and bibs. I also have a black nylon rig with the "one size fits all (huge) belt", this will go around the bibs etc but the draw/reholster is still slow underneath the hunting coat. The draw/re-holster is also difficult from any strongside or crossdraw position while seated in a climber stand.
Anyway, I attached my nylon holster directly to the left suspender of my safety harness with several zip-ties. This makes a very comfortable shoulder holster, and can be worn over or under your hunting coat. The wide adjustable straps provide good weight distribution for the heavy revolver. The gun is perfectly positioned for a smooth draw from seated position.
I used a heated nail to melt two holes through the nylon as additional zip-tie mounting locations.
I thought this discovery was worth sharing with fellow handgun hunters, it sure works for me.

Sorry, I do not have any pics. However, the idea is pretty simple, and the safety harness provides a perfect platform for a shoulder holster.

For large handguns like the Redhawk and the contender I like the bandoleer cross draw style sholder holsters that place the gun accross your chest/abdomen. they still allow access no matter what position you are in and allow you to carry a rifle or shotgun too.

How about a simple loop sling ? Kevin
I use an Uncle Mikes bandolier holster but remove all the straps , the holster is removed and stowed . the gun is carried by the sling.

Sometimes simpler is better.....I use a belt and side holster over my head and chest like a bandolier. Can be hung so it works like a shoulder holster over any clothing.

You wouldn't have a link or location one could buy one of those lobo? I have one just like it that I bought years ago at a gun show. Used it alot for warm weather woods toting, but not so much for cold weather. Would like to get another.

I buy from a guy that sells their stuff on ebay gives you a little better price usually, good guy, I have bought three holsters from him so far all real good quality for the price. I will get a link to him on ebay take me a minute.

Something I have thought about doing is attaching a holster to the stand.Might work better than having the gun on you.Most bought stands have a shooting rail I was going to attach it on there

I also like the Diamond D chest holser quite a lot. But I envision it more for a unscoped revolver versus scoped.

I showed the Diamond D mainly for concept, you can get any holster you want on that rig.
