Handgun New Years Resolutions.

My resolution is to take advantage of my wife's new found acceptance of having guns in the house. I'd like to close out 2010 with a .22, a .357, an EDC weapon of smaller stature and a Glock of as-yet indeterminate caliber. Magazines or speed loaders and accessories for all, of course.

I resolve to finally buy a pocket gun for summer carry.

Find a nice place to shoot outside of town NOT at a range.

Stop spending so darn much money on guns/ammo.

Run the Atlanta Marathon (ok not gun related exactly)

I resolve to get some real trigger time behind my snubbie (only shot 50 round thru it and I've had it for 6 months). Also I resolve to practice more often between my weekly steel matches.

Well, since I recently joined a club, I want to practice more and shoot in competitions. Wife wants to attend a defensive handgun course. I want to limit my purchase to one new gun for the year, so I'll have to make a good choice.

Spend less on both guns and ammunition than in '09.

Buy only one gun in '10, maybe a 1911 which I don't have.

I'm going to get a membership at a range and shoot at least a couple hundred rounds a week. I managed to shoot this much at an outdoor spot in the woods for about 6 months last year but the drive out there, dealing with idiots that were there, and such got old so I stopped going consistently. There is a range less than ten minutes from my house in Seattle. (SPAA) I figure I'll make part of my routine one day a week to go shooting before work, as I did with the outdoor spot. Hopefully "close and easy" will get me back on track. :)

Gonna try to keep to the 1 gun per month goal - I'll try to buy at least 1 gun per month! :neener::D Or did I misunderstand the Bradys??:neener:

I decided I need a CBOB in 10mm, maybe find another old flat top to have converted to 44 special.

Mike

1. Try to go a whole year without buying a new gun. (We'll see how this one goes)

2. Take a minimum of 3 classes similar to 09'.

3. Get to the range a minimum 2-3 times per month.

4. Continue to do various dry fire drills 6-7 days a week for a minimum of 20-30 minutes per day.

Already put my resolution (expressed earlier in this thread) in motion. My Minotaur MTAC holster is in production, I've already lost 4 lbs, and the wife and I are trying to choose from the hundreds of CCW classes in the area!
