Friends & Family,

Please forgive me for not staying better in touch.

I’ve finally settled into a routine here at Camp Fallujah. I spent Easter morning with injured Marines at the small medical facility here. April has been horrible – several attacks and accidents. Brought them Easter candy and sat and talked for a while. Attached is a picture with a Marine who was injured in a rocket attack a few days ago while building new barracks for Iraqi Soldiers—it’s a blurry picture, but still worth a thousand words.

I’ve been able travel quite a bit so far…one week at Camp Blue Diamond and one week at Al Asad covering stories. Camp BD is a small camp located along the Euphrates River. Sadaam built some palaces there and now it’s the HQTRS for various US/Iraqi troops.

Went on a 4 1/2 hour foot patrol with new Iraqi Army soldiers near Ramadi while there…..great video…but proof that we have a LONG way to go before they are ready to stand on their own. My stories are airing on the Pentagon Channel/AFN and posted to various websites.

I’ve seen dozens of Marines and Sailors I’ve known throughout the years here in Iraq. It’s great to see familiar faces…old roommates, boyfriends and bosses….people I’ve known for 12 or 13 years. Plus, making new friends and meeting great people from all over the world.

Check our website for the Camp Fallujah 2-Minute Report at the site listed below.
It’s one of my science projects here - testing web-based Video-On-Demand reporting….

Hope all is well with you,
Best regards,

Tired from having to get up early and beat my kid to hide eggs.

Now I will be in trouble because I am on the PC instead of doing the family thing.

Happy Easter

Luke 24:1-8
The Resurrection
1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words.

I'm tired from Easter Egg hunting with my son, but I love it. Wife gave me an easter basket with a box of Ammo in it. .45 COLT to be exact. I'm at work now, and in front seat of my car when I left was another basket with a Ruger New Vaquero wrapped up in it. No idea why she bought it, but I won't complain.

Easter has to be my favorite of all the pagan holidays. X-mas is a close second but Easter holds true to some of the oldest pagan beliefs and I like that. What I find most funny about Easter is how many people celebrate it and take part in the rituals that have no idea why they are doing it. They have some dim view that it has something to do with the Jesus comming back from the dead but that is about as far as it goes.

Most don't understand that Easter is almost 100% pagan from the bunny to the eggs to the vernal equinox, all pagan. I think I enjoy Easter mostly because I like to watch people acting without thought. It is like watching a puppet show.

I always get the Xtian holidays mixed up

Is this the one where Jesus arises after three days, and if he sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter?
