Well I decided to take a 35min trip up to a local gun/reloading shop today in search of bullets, and primers to replenish what I have used this year so far. I think I hit the jackpot! Picked up 1,000 Rainier 40s&w bullets for $125 (little pricey, but I need them), and 5,000 SPP at $36/k, and 2,000 LPP at $36/k. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, and asked if he had SPP. He said "Yes Sir, I have SPP, LPP, SRP, and LRP." They had just received a shippment Tuesday of 70,000 primers, and 50,000 Rainier bullets. He had bullets sitting around on the floor stacked every where. The primer shelf was stocked well, and said they had plenty in the back. Even had well stocked ammo shelves.

Yea they had been selling for $34, but had to raise his prices when he received this shippment.

Wow, that's great news. Much speculation held that the primers would all be going to full ammunition, not reloading component sales, for several months. Either that was never true, or they're through the backlog to mfg's and are back shipping primers to retailers.

That's not too pricey for any of it. That's about what I pay for primers locally, and for .45 Rainier bullets I normally have to pay $75/500.

I'm in NE Georgia near Athens. I sure hope things are starting to ease up some. I checked out 3 different shops yesterday. I picked up these primers, and bullets at the first one in Winterville,Ga. Local shop in my home town had plenty of Sm, and Lrg Rifle primers, lots of ammo for pistol, powder, and about 8 Glocks in stock. The last shop had some primers, 3 pallets of PMC .223 for $525/k, plenty of AR lowers, LPK's, 7-8 AR's, tons of Troy, and PMAGS AR mags for $20, and was checking in 2 big boxes of Glock mags. It's just nice to see some stock.

It sure sounds like Georgia is the place to be with all the politicing going on. Everytime I read about some place having stuff in stock it sure seems like the poster is from GA.

We are really blessed with lots of good gun shops. I live out in the country, but have 9 gun shops, and 3 FFL's that have small gun shops behind there home with in 30min. The shop where I picked up these primers, and bullets is located in a barn behind a old farm house. The owner has a good selection of long guns, and handguns, but really caters to the reloader. Back before the panic he carried Precision Delta in 10k bulk boxes, Rainier in 500ct, and 1k bulk, and cast bullets from a local caster. He has always carried a great selection of primers in CCI, Rem, Win, Fed, Wolf, and tons of powder. He's also a Dillon dealer, and carries a full selection of Dillon equipment.

Most of the bigger well known shops have been wiped clean, but the small guys have been the key to finding supplies.

Maybe North Georgia is blessed but middle georgia is bad...not many LGS and those that are here are charging way to much ($50/k for primers). Really makes me want to open my own store or something....

Wish my local store would do this They just have bare shelves and when they do have stuff they tell me to come in the next day when I call (because they are about to close) and then close early the next day!

Georgia Arms blessed me with about 7k primers last weekend. No CCI stuff though. I did find CCI 200's on the shelf today at Palmetto State Armory. Still can't find any Varget, CFE 223, or H4895. After these next 600 rifle rounds, I will be stuck just loading pistol rounds until I can find more of any of those.

Nice, CCI primers were $39 locally before the crisis. Now they are just unavailable.

I have a buddy that's a KS resident but the Army has him stationed at Ft. Benning. He happens to be in town this weekend. Maybe I should send him back to GA with a shopping list...... He did just shoot about 150 rounds of my .45acp and 120 rounds of my .223 reloads. He loaded the .45 under my supervision, his first time reloading, but he could chip in for some primers

But seriously, I'm not surprised to see 2,000 LPP but seeing 5,000 SPP in one place is a rarity these days. (other than on my shelf! LOL) You seem to be set up for a while this Summer. I know how you feel. I recently stopped by a shop I haven't been to in a while and was able for buy 1000 124gr Zero 9mm bullets for just under $100. I was very happy indeed...

I Stocked up last year, but it was driving me crazy seeing my shelves starting to look empty. I figured I had enough to last me til atleast fall, plus the ammo I have loaded. Now I should be ok til January, and should be able to make some major matches that I planned to attend. I'm not seeing the big crowds in the LGS as much now either.

I was in Tallahassee Fl yesterday and the gun shop I stopped at had primer and powder. But at $60 per thousand and $30 per pound he still has my share of them

Never thought I would hear that for primers costing $180 per 5K. I guess it's like gas, when it gets down to $3.70 a gallon we get excited because we are getting screwed less than we were.

gahunter12 I'm glad you were able to find components. I have been hearing from a lot of people that they are starting to find more on the shelves. Hopefully this willbe over soon and prices will go down.

I bought all I could stand the last four months in 2012 and the first one in 2013. Glad I did. While there are a couple of things I wish I had, I can at least keep shooting for a while.
