Has Colt ever made a WWII replica 1911A1?

Colt says about 5000 made and 100 per state is not an unreasonable number I guess.

Actually the number was closer to 4000 and rumor was they never made that many. The early ones didn't have us property roll marks. And later ones did. The Colt ww1 reproduction is/was produced in the same numbers 4000.;)

I have had it out and shot it on three different occasions.
I guess it isn't collectable anymore but it way out shoots any and all genuine mil-spec, mil-issue .45s that I have ever shot and I have shot a bunch.
I bought this gun on a whim and ended up selling all my Mil-spec guns and keeping this one.
I like it.
 
Gun broker usually has one or two at a time for about $1000-$1200 each.
