first off, I am very well covered with a S&W 629 in .44 mag, S&W 642 snubby in .38 spl +p, Ruger Security Six in .357 mag, Taurus 651 snubby in .357 mag

recently bought 2 'plinker' for fun...Stoeger Cougar in 9mm & Uberti Cattleman 1873 SAA clone in .45 Colt; unfortunately I need to sell one to pay some upcoming bills; the 9mm costs less to feed & enjoyable to shoot; the revolver is fun to shoot & has a great retro aura about it;

which one stays & which one goes?!? :confused:

Haha, if you want to sell the cougar I'd consider it for the right price..
But honestly, you have a lot of revolvers already, and I'd keep the cougar

While the Cattleman has style, what can that cartridge do that a .357 or .44 Mag cannot surpass, other than look freaking cool?

Or would you rather have a cool-looking wall-hanger that you can't afford to feed, rather than a working firearm with which you practice?

Sell the cattleman.

If I could pick one to add to my line up it would be the uberti. But if I had your collection I would say ericyp is right, you do have alot of revolvers already and an auto in the mix would be nice.

I'm thinkin'---keep the Cougar. I've got one too and it would be hard to part with.
Just ordered Hogue Coco Bolo grips for it and can't wait to dress it up a bit.

Since you have a .357 magnum snub then sell the .38 spl snub as the .357 can handle both duties. Keep the plinkers and dump the M642.

thanks all for the responses; it's done...the Cougar brought a bit more money :eek:

the GM I took it to has to buy based upon blue book listings; other shops seemed to sway like the wind based upon their mood; I wasn't exstatic with the price GM offered, but I felt it was fair-n-square

kept the Uberti based upon less $$$ offered & I get the majority of my plinking ammo from www.mastercast.net as bulk professional reloads; I can get 2.5 times the rounds (including shipping) for the price of one box of ammo bought from the average shop;

if I do choose to augment with a bottom feeder, it'll be a decent middle-of-the-road 1911 in .45 acp or a Walther P-1 in 9mm; I want something with a bit of history;

my 'wall hanger' can serve nicely as a toting gun for walking the woods at hunting camp; load it with Blazer 200 gr jhp's (Gold Dots) for a nitey nite bedside gun & load it with Remington 225gr lswc's for woods walking
