Was walking around the mall and seen one of those massage guys that give you a massage right there in one of those upright massage chairs. Well I forgot I had my firearm in the right kidney area. Pretty funny, the guy didn't care either.

I live in Indiana. Our license if for a permit to carry, open or concealed, therefore I could care less.

However I do not advertise the fact that I do carry.

I was in Sportsman's Warehouse a while back with my 1911 in a Galco Fletch holster. I was leaning over to sign my name at the checkout and the bottom inch or so of my holster peeked out below my untucked button up shirt. The guy in line behind me said "Is that really an attempt at concealed carry?"
I glanced back at him and said "Nope, not really!" and he replied "That's a good way to get in trouble". I just said, "Well, I'm legal either way so I'm not too worried about it" and walked out.

Yeah that's how it is here in TN, and we pretty much share the same sentiment on whether or not it goes unnoticed.

I don't know. People here are polite and don't say anything. They also don't say anything when someone is OC'ing a big revolver in the grocery store or a Glock downtown. Nobody cares much, and we tend to be friendly and respectful around here, so I have no clue what people have seen. I don't expect they'd say anything.

only once that i know of by my older sister. we were joking around at my house and she playfully punched me in the hip...right on the slide of my glock 22!:what: she pulled back real quick yelling what the **** was that?!? i just chuckled and lifted my shirt a bit

I have never been made, to the best of my knowledge , In my area, It's not completely abnormal to spot someone openly carrying, I do live in a tri-state hodge-podge of NY/NJ/PA and I will admit there is a varying degree of acceptance to OC based on who may or may not "Make you " but to answer the Question again . Nope . never been made , while CCW'ing . never had anyone say much when openly carrying either for that matter .

Once by a guy I work with. I was squat down pulling something off a bottom shelf and the grip kinda stuck out a little bit he said (right infront of my boss) "Oh I didn't know you carried! what is that, a Glock?" It was a Sig P238 with wood grips.

I work at a sporting goods store that sells guns and the guy who saw it sadly worked at the gun counter. and our employee handbook doesn't say no guns, but it hints at it, so I was going for the don't ask, don't tell kinda deal. My boss didn't say anything about it though.

Never outed in public. My wife though has gotten me a few times. She will put her arm around me and find the gun. Usually she says something like, ' I didn't know you had that on you tonight." Usually, unless she sees me putting my gun on she doesn't know until she finds it in the above way..

The only time I was ever "made" that I know of, was once I was being measured for a Tux. The lady reached around to get a measurement, and found my Commander under my sweat-shirt. She said "What in the world? Oh. A gun. We'll allow for that", and went on about her business.

But for the most part, I open carry these days, and even then most people don't seem to notice.

I voted "never", but it's possible that I might have been during a couple of card games we played with a couple of friendly families, when I had to lay on the floor... But if I was made, nobody mentioned it; besides, this doesn't really count. In a real social or outdoors situation, though, I don't think I have. Not that I care, since I live in an open carry state, but still. The thing is that it's very hard to know if you've been made or not.

I've never been made but I'm hardly James Bond. You don't have to study my front pocket for very long to figure out what is likely to be in it. People just don't watch their surroundings well at all, which works out good for folks like me.;)

I was made by a friend's 5 year old son in a department store. She is a good friend of mine and I introduced her to guns and shooting and her little son is begging me to go to the range with us. I just keep telling him "in a few more years."

Anyways, we were in the store and he was hiding in one of the clothing racks as his mother tried on some clothes. I am searching the rack for him as his laughs are slowly giving him away.

When I found him he jumped up on me and yelled "your gun hit my knee," very very loudly. I got a few looks from a woman leaving the dressing room, but nobody said anything.

awww, kids

However, My father was made by an anti. He has carried a 4" Python in a Bucheimer Clark 14c-14 IWB holster for nearly 40 years. This was his gun when he was a cop and it will always be his carry gun. He is in his golden years and bascially has the attutide that concealment is ok in theory but if someone sees it he could care less; thus he conceals quite poorly. He was in a Doctor's office and a patient in the waiting room never even spoke to my father but called the police on him. Two patrol cars arrive and speak with the paitent for a while.

My father told me he thought the guy was being arrested, but the deputies came in and went to talk with my father when one of the deputies recognized him. My father is a Vietnam Vetran turned police officer turned retired civilian. He is active with the American Legion and a local retired NYPD organization called the 10-13. This deputy is also a member of the 10-13.

Long story short; my father and the deputy spoke for a while and the deputy told the anti (in front of my father) that he's perfectly legal and simply left. The anti went home missing his appointment.

Yes I have been I generally try to keep things covered but I don't worry about it a whole lot.

I'm not James Bond, but concealed means concealed. I think that most of us take that seriously enough that we don't allow mistakes or outtings to take place routinely, or even on rare occasions.

I've been IDed once. By two police officers during a APhA meeting in Florida. They were very cool woth it. They just verified my permit, and then left me alone.

I don't have too much to add to this since I always OC at the moment, but I'm surprised how many people don't even notice when I do that.

My girlfriend and I were walking around the lake, and she put her arm around me, sliding it down to my waste, and said "What is....Oh, your gun.."

Another time is when I had been hanging out with one of my friends for most of the afternoon, several hours, and she didn't even notice I was OC'ing until she was already in the car and I walked around the front of it strong side facing her.

I have noticed that the people than notice a gun are those that carry. Those that have don't are quite unaware most of the time.

I may have been made, because no amount of training or routine can get rid of the slight pendulum effect when you carry in a cargo pocket...

Bot Oregon is an open carry state, so it wouldn't matter, not to mention I do look the part of the GI, so they wouldn't usually care.
