I've never understood the point of stating an opinion, and refusing to discuss the matter any further. You are entitled to believe whatever it is you want to believe, but there should really be some basis for it. Its hard to respect an opinion when one has no basis for how it was formed. Furthermore, it can easily be seen as "baiting" to throw a controversial statement like "there's no room for the hunting of big cats" and then just walking away from it. If you are going to state your opinion on a controversial subject in a public forum, the least you can do is explain your conclusion to the rest of us who obviously don't understand just where it is you are coming from. Even "I think they are pretty animals" is an opinion one can understand even if they don't necessarily agree. Its hard to understand an opinion so freely given without anything to support it
