Is it just me? Seems like a lot more of the crimes involving firearms are now being commited with 'Assault Weapons' since the ban expired. Or at least that is the way some media outlets report it.
Earlier in the week in Dayton, a shooting took place that was reported in the Dayton paper as being an 'assault style rifle' due to the caliber that was used. No weapon was found, but by the cases found it was reported as being an SKS or AK-47 style rifle.
About a month ago a man was killed in Dayton at a convienece store with an 'assault style pistol'.
Anyone else notice this? It just seems like the media are even more determined to use this term now whenever possible.
