Caught the network news the other night. They did a brief report on that Muslim soldier from the 101st who murdered some of his comrades in Kuwait. They said that he "threw grenades, and shot them with a rifle".

As far as I know he wasn't using some bolt action sniper rifle. I'm assuming he used an assault rifle. Given that the media is so anxious to call everything an "assault weapon" whether it is or not (ignoring the fact that this is a made up term in the first place), it seems at least somewhat ironic that given the opportunity to accurately report that someone used an actual assault weapon to commit murder, they demure.

it wasn't an white-nra member-gun loving American doing the shooting. Only they use "assault rifles" and have evil intentions according to the media. :cuss:

Didn't you hear? This man was doing it for an honorable cause, he didn't want his fellow Muslim brothers to be killed, and his Muslim sisters to be raped. Some people see no problems with what he did :barf:

Either that, or they assume when you hear of a military man using a rifle, that you just assume it is an assualt rifle.

Its only an assault rifle if its found in the hands of an American civilian. You see, the media understands how stupid the term sounds and only applies it when there is some potential to make a political statement.
