Is it just me? Seems like a lot more of the crimes involving firearms are now being commited with 'Assault Weapons' since the ban expired. Or at least that is the way some media outlets report it.

Earlier in the week in Dayton, a shooting took place that was reported in the Dayton paper as being an 'assault style rifle' due to the caliber that was used. No weapon was found, but by the cases found it was reported as being an SKS or AK-47 style rifle.

About a month ago a man was killed in Dayton at a convienece store with an 'assault style pistol'.

Anyone else notice this? It just seems like the media are even more determined to use this term now whenever possible.

I can find at least 10 guns that use 7.62x39 and aren't "assault weapons". The media is full of grabby ass kings.

The "media" is so infiltrated with lefty anti-US types, it wouldn't surprise me if a beating death was reported as committed with a "suspected assault style weapon."

Who remembers the use of a handgun in the corner of the nightly news, for ALL crime stories. :cuss:

Why, how very surprising!

Actually, it's not at all. The whole point of the so-called "assault weapons" ban was to establish a legal principle that some firearms, simply because the look extra-scary to hoplophobes, are too dangerous for commoners to be allowed to own. The leftist extremists are both sore losers and extremely persistent when it comes to vilifying both firearms and people who believe the Second Amendment means what it says.

The PRESS is not lazy when it comes to firearms, they know exactly what they are doing and why! :cuss:

All you can do is inform people that the press is lying to them...if they're surprised, they may be beyond redemption. "Assault weapons" were used in less than 3% of crimes before the ban, during the ban, and now that the ban is over, I'm sure that the number hasn't increased. Why? Because convicted criminals have admitted that "assault weapons" are NOT their weapon of choice. Don't make me dig up the research please, Atlantis is on

I'll have to find links, but I've heard some bolt action rifles being referred to as sniper rifles. They're gonna turn the concern over terrorism against us.
