So I'm having a 1911 custom made to the following specs:
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 5" Stainless steel, Match Grade
Frame: Carbon Steel w/ 40 LPI checkered front strap and flat mainspring housing, slim ball milled rosewood grips (I have trouble reaching everything on a 1911 if it has full sized or chunky grips). Drilled and Tapped for scope mount.
Slide: Carbon steel with lowered and flared e-port, front and rear serrations.
Sights: Red Dot optic mounted on rail affixed to the frame w/ backup Colt New Agent style trench "sights".
Trigger: Non-Skeletonized extended (somewhat longer than the GI trigger) bare aluminum 3.5 lbs pull w/ custom tuning.
Magazines: 3, 11 Round extended magazines w/ slam pads, beveled magwell integrated into CNC machined frame.
Finish: Satin Nickel frame with blued slide and small parts (slide release, mag release etc.)
Safety: Right-handed extended safety
Grip Safety: Upswept beaver tail.
Recoil System: Full length guide rod, custom tuned for minimal recoil.
Additional features: Custom fit slide to frame, test fire for accuracy, engrave buyer's name (that's me!) into frame above Springfield Armory trademark. Custom build means serial # will be SAC1996-001 (Springfield Armory Custom, Custom Build #1996, First in this style). Supervising gunsmith will discretely but visibly sign the frame with a laser engraving tool. All custom work done in Geneseo Illinois USA. Includes kit to convert weapon to .38 Super on demand.
Don't ask me how much this cost me, thats for me to know and you to find out if you ever want one Let's say I've wanted this for a long time and have been saving for an even longer time.
