I looked at the first 35-40 topics and seems no one has
posted:
I was on the S&W Web site yesterday, and under new
Products it shows 3 new 1911s as well as various sized
M&P Semi-Autos w/thumb Safety.
The 1911s are unlike previous SW1911 models
* 1911 9MM Pro Series MSRP just over $1600
it has lots of custom features/smithing from PErf. Center.
30 LPI checkered front strap, mag well, action job etc.
and it is the first chambered for something other than .45 ACP
Stainless Steel frame & Slide
My comment on this one is a Pro Series is fine, but why not
offer it in a Commander size "PD" ?
* 1911 Sub Compact Pro Series $1264
Officers Frame height, with a 3" bbl./Slide
it has a couple of features, but let's say "Pro light"
Carbon Steel slide/Scandium frame 24 oz.
* 1911 Compact ES $ 1,264
The ES must stand for, Extended Slide, on an
Officers frame. 4.25" Bbl./Slide & it as well as the
others have the standard to S&W Low Mount Novak
3-Dot "Carry" sights, beavertail grip safety, and the
external extractor. This is a two-tone, Stainless
Steel slide, w/ black Scandium frame. 29.6 oz.
S&W M&P with Thumb Safety. so they
put suspenders and belt so to speak on the M&P.
The rest of the new S&Ws are Revolvers,
which if I don't see a thread about them I'll post to
the revolvers section here on THR.
I'm trying to figure out how to get a Compact ES,
Randall
