PHOENIX -- The president's plan for an expanded guest worker program is really amnesty for those who broke the law by coming here illegally, Congressman J.D. Hayworth said Tuesday.

Hayworth criticized the call Monday by President Bush to make a new guest worker program part of any plan to deal with the problems of illegal border crossers. The six-term Republican congressman said new programs should not even be considered until the border is secure.

Bush wants not only to expand existing programs but also to allow those here illegally to remain for up to six years if they already are employed.

The president insisted in his Tucson speech none of this amounts to amnesty. But Hayworth isn't buying it.

BTW, I will never vote for another pol until he stands up and says we're not going to take this anymore. Republican. Democrat. They're all the same.

Good for J.D. Now here's hoping the rest of the Republicans stand up on their rhino haunches and join him in condemning Bush's so-called 'border plan'.

We all owe Hayworth a brew. No matter how Jorge Bush tries to present this 'gem', you can't polish a turd.

Here's hoping the same thing.

Unfortunately, considering how the Republicans have rolled over for the representatives of the Democratic (sic) party, I think it would be awfully unrealistic to expect them to stand up to a fellow Republican.

no one is fooled

Bush has to decide what country he really wants to be President of.

His grand plan is designed to accommodate a swath of businesses and the "hardworking moms and dads" of Central America, mostly Mexico.

WHAT ABOUT AMERICAN CITIZENS, MR. BUSH?

Our President, the greatest leader of our time, wouldn't do anything to trick the American people. Look at his history, has he EVER tricked the people in the past?

Luckily, I believe some Republicans are beginning to see this clown for what he is - a liability and won't support his hair brained schemes any longer. I saw a report the other day that the Whitehouse is looking for a way to connect the President with the American people. I'm going to write them and suggest they put Jorge on his bike and have him bike across country. He likes to ride his bike, and it becoming clear while he likes being President - he either doesn't like or can't DO President. Riding his bike across the Nation will let him do what he likes (ride bikes), "be" President and not have to "do" President.
