guys,
I just got done moving, or at least everything is inside the new house. Anyway my safe is now located at the opposite end of the house from the master br unlike the old homestead. I collect milsurp so most of my hd options are those. I do have a dbl coach 12ga though. I'm concerned about overpenetration if I keep one of my CZ52's in a gun vault in the master even if it is loaded with hp. Everything else handgun wise that I currently have is maybe underpowered except maybe possibly a Webley in 38 s&w. I would like to keep the 12ga handy but secure as I have kiddos in the house too. Anyone ever seen a single longarm container like the minivault with the four finger code pad that is available for handguns? The house has a security system and I have a good dog, but he's not yet accustomed to the house enough to be superbly protective so I figure having something in the room is good enough. It doesn't have to be under my pillow just easily accessible to me and the wife only.

Most gun safes are designed to be fireproof and have thick walls. It makes it pretty cost prohibitive to manufacture one for a single firearm. The only thing I have ever heard of is something similar to this used in conjunctions with lock.

That isn't very easily accessible. For the price of a safe as you describe, assuming it exists...you could probably pick up a used xd and a single pistol safe.

Just my 2 cents...best of luck looking for a solution!

That's about what I was looking for. I think I could fit my semi auto sten in there too. :)
I wasn't looking to spend the dough for any fireprotection just a right sized lock box with electric lock and bolt-to-the-wallability.
