i wear hearing aids and cannot use plugs, anyone use muffs that don't interfere with wing shooting or clay shooting. or do you use something else

For shotgunning, I use the Lyman electronic muffs over plugs or solo if I forget my custom-made plugs. Any thicker earmuffs will either hit the comb as I mount the gun and rise up allowing noise in, or start pinching my cheek between the bottom of the ear cup and the stock under recoil.

Best part about these is I can turn up the volume to hear as I am walking about and still have hearing protection in place for a quick shot.

Stay safe.

I've shot with the muffs or taken out the aids and used foam plugs. Either way works fine.

I also wear hearing aids and can't think why I would leave them in to shoot....seems just counter productive. You take them out to take a shower.....perhaps some are not removeable, but then how to you replace the batteries...and I go through batteries about once a week. I also take them out when mowing, or doing anything else "loud"

For me take them out and in ear, I can't get comfortable on the rifle with over ear protection....just hate them.

Electronic muffs like @Riomouse911 mentioned. They're wonderful!
I can actually hear conversation or the range officer better with them on. When the shooting starts.....they really work.

The best shooting accessory in a long time. Don't miss out!
I dont think i have a picture of it, and can't remember the brand:thumbdown:....but I'll go look and post later.

Instead of muffs I bought an Electronic Ear Bud Headset by Walker from Midway. They work great and don't interfere when shooting a rifle.

They last 15 hours and then you have to recharge them with your USP port on the computer.

I've had them for 2 years and they work great.

I use Walker electronic muffs for clays and they work great for me. But I don’t use hearing aids. I really like them for winter league, they keep your ears warm.

The electronic ear muffs are economical and great when I shoot pistols. However they do get in my way when mounting my shotgun. I just have to use plugs when shotgunning. Hearing aid users that shoot with me usually take out the aids and use plugs while we are shooting clays. I am mindful of their hearing loss during this time and we nod heads a lot when it's their turn etc. We just have to make it work out safely. Good luck! :)

There's a good chance that wearing muffs over your hearing aids will cause them to feed back. If your hearing aids whistle when you cup your hand over your ear, I don't think you'll enjoy wearing them with muffs.

I would like to second these.

My Walkers Vx3s are great! High high sound reduction with great audio.

The ear plug style buds have different sizes for a perfect fit and perfect seal to the ear canal.
It’s like putting in Bose speakers in my ears, in a sound proof booth.

The best part is I can choose the “high frequency boost” mode to better hear the tone range I’ve lost.
I can turn them to level one for loud construction sites. Or turn them all the way up and have super hearing while I hunt!

Very much worth it!

I want some Apple ear bud I-air,?, whatever’s. But all the cool-kid ones don’t have high enough noise reduction ratings for me, nor fit with a tight enough hold in my ears. I don’t want to be looking down a pit, or can of woodstain:fire:, and lose one!

I use regular silicon earplugs most of the time. Sometimes I'll wear the electronic ones, they work great, but not so much in the wind ( which it is here all the time, yesterday was 20+ mph winds, tonight's even higher )
