I too cannot decide between a detachable carry handle or one with just a BUIS. I probably won't be able to afford a red dot for a year or two. If I use the BUIS as my only site for now, will I be frustrated by the lack of adjustments compared to the regular A2 sights on the carry handle? I'll be shooting 100 max.

Now are carry handle A2 sights "calibrated" for use with a 20" upper? I'm not under the impression that they are, but I could be wrong. That said, it's no problem working up your own dope for it.

100 max? A standard BUIS with windage only adjustment should be perfectly adequate.
