Can anyone give me a tip on setting the sear spring on a Colt Pony 380?

The foot needs to hook under the frame and the top of the leaf need to be behind the sear, but how to do that without three or four hands?

Am I correct in assuming you mean Colt Pony?

I have generated a tip forinstalling the sear on a Sig P238; it's very similar, and may be of help to you.

Anyone interested may email me at:

It's a Microsoft Word file, and I can't figure out how to attach it here.

try saving it as an earlier version, or even as .txt.

For that matter, copy the whole text and paste it into a post here.

1. Put the spring in place under the sear and the "J hook".
2. With a small screwdriver in the hole in the bottom of the spring, depress (bend) the spring and move it down into its slot at the botom of the frame.
3. Hook one side of the retainer clip over the spring and with the same screwdriver snap it into place over the spring.

Two Hands and Five Seconds!
