Help me choose between LTT Elite 92 and Nighthawk 1911

If you think the ocd is bad, imagine if you sell one then the regret kicks in. Talk about a tough battle. Keep both, hide one for a month if necessary and swap monthly.

Zenrooster,

I’ve become a fan of the 92 series and 1911’s within the last few years. My thoughts are, unless you need the money then keep both.

Seriously, you have two top notch pistols. Anybody would be proud to own one, much less two.

That’s just my .02 though.

For me the choice would be easy as I'm not a big fan of the Beretta Model 92 due to the relatively small hands I have. However as someone else has already stated, you would hate to have either gun taken into custody should it be used in a shooting situation. And while I don't have any guns worth anything like the two under consideration by the OP, I did find a used SIG P229R that was perfect for the role of HD with night sights, SRT, and a rail for a light.

So bottom line for me would be to advise the OP to keep both high end guns and find something more suitable for HD.

I like my sig guns. But I take the E2 grips off every one. I have a pile. Lol. Luckily every person has different opinions and likes.

I wouldn't sell either, to be honest. I've sold a bunch of guns and don't keep a large collection, but won't lie, I majorly regret at least half the guns I sold.

That's my advice. Especially on a hard to find gun.

If you or your family aren't going without, why sell?

Yeah, and both of those guns definitely qualify. The LTT 92 is scarce, and Nighthawks are, well, Nighthawks. Guarantee if you sell one you couldn't replace it for the same price at the way things look these days.

"Basically, I want a solid home defense handgun with the following ."

Dump the .45 and stick the 9mm in the drawer. I'm big on capacity and minimizing the calibers I shoot. You already have a 9mm carry so keep it in the family. If you trust the "9" for EDC why wouldn't you trust it for home defense?

Never did understand the fascination of the 1911, .45 look-a-likes. But then I love my 15+1 Beretta PX4 Storm Compact in 9mm. Four bad guys . . . do the math.

In our townhouse community, I've prioritized more security against overpenetration (eg. 45 ACP) over high capacity (eg. 9mm). The Nighthawk 1911 edges out the Beretta LTT Elite on that point.

OTOH, I've decided to heed the advice of a few voices here, most recently of crestoncowboy who said, "If you or your family aren't going without, why sell?" That's a solid point. I'll be keeping both for a while longer.

Thanks for all the thoughts, everyone. Highly appreciated with lots to think about. I'm glad I came here for advice. :)
