My favorite "plinkers" (some are carried too)

    Ruger MKII
CZ75B or EAA Witness (I have both in 9mm and actually like the Witness more)
    Makarov
    1911
    Ruger GP100 4"

The Remington 1911/22 is a great plinker. It's basically a spec 1911 scaled down about 25% in size, comes factory with an arched MSH, and is tons of fun to shoot.

Now, if your definition of "plinker" can be stretched a little... 30-30 BFR

My vote would also be for the ruger MKIII or ruger 22/45. if not that then the browning buckmark.

mine has full volquartsen internals and a MKII hammer bushing, the mags drop free and the trigger is amazing. I plan on ordering the Majestic Arms target grips for it eventually

I saw a Browning 1911 .22 compact at my LGS. It certainly looks like a fun plinker. $599.00
