Detroit. um... Dogg.
oy gevalt. the last few weeks, I've had a particular pistol continually popping up in my head at the most inopportune moments. that pistol is... a Glock. not just any Glock, but a 10mm Glock 20. (I've even entertained thoughts about how cool it would be if they made a long-slide 10mm) I... I feel the dark side corrupting the very fibers of my being! WHAT CAN I DO???!?!!??:D :D

Get the darned thing! If you don't own a 10mm already.....you need to get one. If you like Glocks....that's the one to have. If you don't like Glocks.....get a 10mm 1911.
Either way...You must get a 10mm! Did I mention that I am a fan of the 10mm?

Major Kaboom factor

I freely admit to disliking Glocks....but, not ALL tupperware; I've fired and liked a Springfield .40 S&W XD. But, were I to buy this very powerful caliber, I'd want it encased in Steel....Tanfoglio Witness is pretty cool. Just my opinion: I've seen a .40 S&W Glock blow out at the extractor area: the shooter wasn't injured TOO badly:uhoh:

CDNN apparently has Glock 20s for around $400 or under, someone recently said. I own a G20 and love it. Its big, but its nice.

Oh, also, for the cost of drop in parts, you can also shoot .40S&W and .357Sig out of the gun. 3 calibers in one. Cool, no?

Mike

Purchasing a gun is not dark . If you pass up you will always wonder, "What if..." With a good deal, if you don't like it, it will
make a down payment on a nice Sig....oh I repeated myself.:neener:

You will find many people that say they dislike Glocks. You will find few who say they do not work. If a firearm can evoke both dislike and respect from the same person, it is worth checking out.

Currently I have one glock. A 20 in 10mm.

With 2 hi-caps, I feel pretty well armed for anything that I encounter.

Get it, you know that you want it.:D

Heh, brasshopper! I get it!

Local gun store has a G20 in (duh) 10mm...

It's been calling my name, though I'm not wild about a used gun (be gentile, I'm still new at this :)

Is it true about the ability to accept .40 and .357 too? (makes sense) mags the same? Is feeding just as reliable?

How much, and what parts are we talking about?

Damn you THRD!

You are free to think anything you like about the plastic pistol but it is a KNOWN fact that the 10mm Glock will outlast a few steel 10mm pistols and the Colt DE for sure.

if you get one, get the G20

Look,
I'm a dyed in the wool 1911 fan. Can't get away from them. Twice, I've bought Glocks[other than G20's], and tried to make the conversion over to combat tupperware.......but I've never been able to do it. Something about them has never "worked" for me before. I KNOW on paper they should be GREAT carry guns.....light, strong, reliable, fast into action, etc., but I've never gotten comfortable with the various G27's,G19's,G23's,G17's,a nd G22's I've had before. I've NEVER been able to shoot them well at all, compared to my 1911's. I have sold off all my Glocks....

That is until I got my G20. This thing rocks. For some reason, and I'm still not sure what it is, but I'm able to get hits, fairly precise hits, with this thing. It has been considerably more reliable than any of the .40 cal Glocks that I've owned, and certainly more confidence inspiring than any of the 9's or .40's.

I can't shoot it as well as my custom 1911 in 10mm, but its getting "practically" close. Lets put it this way, I wouldn't want to have me shooting at me with the G20 at 100 yards:uhoh:

Get the G20, invest in one or two 15 round mags[CDNN has them for $80], plus the 2 10 rounders you get with the gun. I really like Heinie's Straight Eight nite sites on mine. Heck, I'm carrying mine in a $15 Uncle Mike's molded kdex holster now.....but I'm thinking hard about a BLADE TECH or CENDEX.

Anway you go, setting up a G20 and all the "stuff" is ALOT cheaper than setting up a 1911 in 10mm. Or, at least it has been for me:eek:

If you can comfortably grip that big pig it will be a great gun for you. Until you have a couple hundred rounds or maybe a thousand through a Glock you won't understand just how good they are. Once you put in the time and ammo they are really hard not to like and impossible to not respect.

If the question is, "I want a big 10mm with no hassles," the answer is the Glock 20. I've got a better 10mm than the Glock now, but it cost about 4x as much.

I was completely expecting an update by now that indictes that you have taken the plunge, and bought the 10mm. I am now worried that you may be having second thoughts........tsk...tsk.

Ah... you see, I thought I caved to the temptation. indeed I do believe that my next pistol purchase will indeed be a G20. however, the spectre of the poodleshooter has raised its ugly head. I may have to at least buy an AR lower for myself for Agnostic-gets-two-paid-days-off-of-work-day (AKA Christmas). but I assure you, the Glock looms large in my subconciousness. I shall endeavour to cradle one in my hand, and, mayhaps rent one, in the morrow.

I was shopping for a 10mm. I already have my Glock base covered and got a good deal on a Delta Elite so I went that route. I do like the 10mm round. I think it's about the biggest round I'd be comfortable shooting with quick follow-up shots. I like big, I like fast and Glocks are good guns. If I almost went with one of the used CDNN Glocks and I had considered the Witness 10mm but I couldn't pass up the deal on the Elite.

I'd say get the Glock 20 and for fun get a 6" ported barrel for it. Used is fine, they don't really wear out. If HK made a 10mm, that would be worth having too. Well, other than the MP5/10 and I'm not even sure if they made it out of prototyping. Either way that would be worth having, assuming you didn't have to pay for it ;)

well, I stopped by my local ballistic conflict resolution device emporium today. they, unfortunately don't have a G20 to rent, but I handled one. wow, that thing is big in the grip! the salesman told me that it's the same size frame as the G21. is this true? I've rented a G21 before, and although I remember it being big, I also remember that I shot *very* well with it. if it's the same frame, then the relative hugeness doesn't bother me, since i did quite well with the G21. I got a laugh out of them when he asked me what I planned on using it for. I told him I wanted it for the same reason some guys buy Desert Eagles in .50AE. just to have a big honkin' gun.

Yep, 21 and 20 are the same size frame.

You definitely won't be unhappy if you get the 20.

I got used 3rd Gen Glock 20, 2 - 15 rd NFML, 2 - 10 rd w/night sites w/a KKM 6" hunting barrel. I'm into the package deal about $625.

But there is nothing more comforting than 16 rounds of hot 10mm within arms reach.

Get it.

Steve
