My sister is looking to get her CPL (Concealed Pistol License) and could use some assistance.
She intends to carry her SIG P238 and wants to avoid purse carry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Cornered Cat is an excellent site which specifically addresses womens' concerns with respect to concealed carry:

https://www.corneredcat.com/

I'm not sure what the rules are here at THR for recommending other sites, but let's face it, if someone wanted advice on firearms in Hawaii, one would naturally point out 2ahawaii dot com.

This is not to say there aren't other "women's sites," or that good advice can't be had here at THR.

Thanks, Red Wind. I missed that thread.

"CPL" = "Concealed Pistol License?" Haven't seen it that way before. Must be state-specific. Took me a while to figure that out. Duh, me.

G11354, ignore my PMed question on that. Chalk it up to a senior moment.

Acronym creep strikes again.

Which never ends. Texas' CHL is now an LTC.

Which is likely why there's no "sticky" with a list of acronym definitions--it would be huge and need it's own moderator.

We don't have concealed carry here, but after some experimenting I personally found that cross-body is way easier for me than on the hip. I think men are generally longer-waisted which makes drawing from the hip easier for them.

I don't think management of this forum will have a problem with recommending that site, the owner Kathy used to be a moderator here on THR lol. It is an excellent site, for both men and women.

Just a note, there are holsters made specifically for women with the correct sizing to fit their body. The dimensions are different than for men.

Touchy subjects, but size and dress attire play a big role in concealed carry systems for women. My wife did a ton of research (cornered cat being one) and tried a few different systems.

If your sis is a similar size this lady shows some great ideas on youtube:

My understanding she was in law enforcement or her boyfriend/husband. Still, it's pretty educational if the body-size is similar.

My wife really likes the Flashbang, but the attachment to the bra really requires some investment and testing with various bras...I never new those damn things were so expensive!!!

The women's concealed carry movement is expanding exponentially, so there are a ton of reviews and videos out there which is great for the much fairer gender.
