I have an old friend who spends much of his time working out of the country. We hunted together one day last fall for the first time in 15 years. I want to put together a 3-4 day hunt with lodging and a good chance of seeing some birds. Need recomendations for an outfitter or private land hunts in South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, or Kansas (one day drive from IL). Doesn't have to be top shelf Orvis type but would like some reasonably clean and comfortable lodging for 2 well-mannered adults and one lab. We don't need pampering but want time to relax and catch up. Really looking forward to a quality hunt with a good friend and willing to pay if it don't take all my allowance. Some added waterfowl shooting would be super.
Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I'd love to put something together, would only cost you transportation, motel & licences.
Biggest problem is the pheasant population in Western KS got hurt really bad by the drought last year, who knows what's in store for next season. e-mail me if you're interested.

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the s.d. pheasant population is extremely low. drought had some ill-effects last year, and long term forecast for this year is more severe drought conditions. the drought has also affected waterfowl... there is still some pretty fair duck and goose hunting, but not as good as it was 2 years ago...

wish you luck putting this together.
