I think that you cant go wrong with either piece...this decision is best left up to YOU the buyer...try both....find what you are more comfortable with...and let us know what you decided.

Have fun shopping.

XD9, for me. Have not had the opportunity to try out the P99 with the quick reset, or the DAO. Both have good ergonomics, but the trigger, price, and the accuracy (1.8 inches at 27 yards with cheap CCI Blazer 115 gr) of my XD9 are top notch. I'm very happy with mine, and am shopping for an XD40.

Of the too, I chose the HS2000 back when they first hit the shelves and have never looked back. And when it comes to quality? Croation over German anyday. In fact, IMHO the XD is the SiGPro that SiG should have brought out. Both my SiGPros are gone but the Croation Sensation lives on.

I own both and would vote for the p99 first. It's a little easier to conceal and more accurate in my hands. However the XD is a great pistol and you can't go wrong with either. The p99 just holds a slight edge for me.

I've got an XD 40 and Glock 23 (40). I've shot about 500 rounds in the Glock and 350 in the XD. It wears me out shoot that Glock compared to the XD. My wife shot about 2/3's of the 500 rounds in the Glock too and it still wore on me that day.

The XD is ever bit as accurate as the Glock, both are 4" barrels. The XD has a lot less muzzle rise, and feels so much smoother. I think it's a matter of weight and materials making the difference.

I've never shot a P99, but I imagine the XD in 9mm would be even smoother than the .40, and you might be ablel to adjust the trigger to suit you.
