I resized some 7.62x25 brass once fired cases and now they will not chamber. The case goes in but stops before being fully seated in the chamber. These were resized using dillon spray lube and RCBS sizing die. It looks to me like the problem is at the shoulder. There is a definite difference between unfired factory shells and my resized brass in the shoulder area. I don't think the die is forming the shoulder correctly. It looks like the shoulder has been pushed back and the angle is more acute on the sized rounds and more tapered on the unfired factory cases. Did I push the case into the die too far or is there something else that might have caused it? Is there any way to fix this mess or do I have to throw the brass away? Any help would be appreciated

Excluding a bunch of really complicated details chances are if they wont go into the chamber fully you didn't size the cases enough.

How EXACTLY did you set your die up?

I raised the ram to the highest it would go and then screwed the die down until it just touched and then backed it off a half turn. I cannot get the case to go into the die any further as the ram is up as far as it will go.

Screw the die all the way down on the shellholder. Depending on the brand and type of press, you may can even set it for a little camover to take out all the slack and spring.

That "back off half a turn" business is for bolt action rifles.

I screwed the die down all the way and that seems to have taken care of the problem. Thanks much.

I also found that I had to run them thru a 9mm sizing die as the bases were expanded. I assume from a larger than normal chamber in my cz 52

That can be a common problem with that round, it is caused by the shoulder being set back during bullet seating, the best fix for that it to remove the decapping rod out of you sizing die and to run the loaded cases back thru as a final step. This reseats the shoulder and the rounds will then feed normally.

Reloading 7.62x25mm casings for loads for a C96, I have found that occasionally the shoulder will buckle slightly when the bullet is seated and as others have noted, that will cause chambering problems, even if the cases were originally resized properly.

CZ52s have tighter chambers than some Lee dies.
That was a big problem 12 years ago.
I don't know what is going on now.

I could put a CZ52 barrel in a bullet puller die, and use that to size brass for a Tokarev:)
