Im thinking of either getting a mossberg atr 100 or a savage stevens bolt action to hunt with. I was curious if any aftermarket parts are available for these models (triggers, stocks, barrels, etc.)?

Just get a Tikka t3 and be done with it. You won't have to waste your time replacing sub par parts.

The Tikka is guaranteed 1" at 100 yds, had a decent stock, and a fantastic trigger.

+1 on tikka; can be had for 450-500

But if your price range for now is lower I'd go with the stevens. You can upgrade those things like crazy.. stock/trigger/barrel/ anything else you want.

Get a Weatherby

Buy Japanese, and buy a Weatherby (HOWA). Not especially pretty to look at but I heard they are good quality. I bought a Remington Model 700, then changed-out the heavy trigger. Savage is reasonable, and supposedly have good triggers. Stevens is made by Savage, so maybe they use the same trigger? Ruger's new Hawkeye is reasonably priced and claims to have a great trigger. Remington Model 798 costs less than a Model 700 CDL, but I'm unfamiliar with this Serbian import. A proper trigger-pull for hunting afield should be 2.5 to 3.0 pounds with no creep. Some rifle triggers break at 7.0 pounds, if one's finger doesn't break first. Cliffy

+1 on the Tikka - save up? You can get one OTD for around $550 from any number of sellers, which is very competitive. You really can't go wrong with these rifles.
