Help with carrier on Marlin 1893

I am linking a thread from another board, I need help.
Without the bolt the carrier will lift completely, with the bolt, the carrier stops about 1/8" too low and causes feed jams.

I had some problems with Marlin's several years back. It was caused by the carrier not being made correctly. This was back in 79 or 80 don't know when your's was made, but Marlin made a change to them and that fixed the problem. If your is an older one that could be your problem also. Check with Marlin customer service and they will help you. Al

This one is from the 90's...the 1890's. The carrier is not lifting all the way.

Well, it's pretty much the same problem.

The carrier, or lever, or both is worn out.

Finding good used parts will be next to impossible.

It can be fixed.
By someone who knows how and can weld real good.
