Help with Small Rimfire scopes

Rangerruck,

I did a search on Ebay and found a vintage 3/4" tube Weaver with El Paso stamped on the tube. $25 and the thing looks like it's never been used. It's a K(somethingorother) model. The eye piece is plastic, but it has a steel tube and clear lenses.

All,

Thanks for all the suggestions, links and pics. Found one an finally got it mounted. Even got to give it a go this afternoon. Kind of cool being able to actually hit a small target again.

Got one more question.......

At what distance do you zero a .22 rifle scope? That is while using run of the mill ammo. I was using some Thunderbolt ammo today to dial it in. I'd like to get it zeroed to the proper distance to make longer shots. Thanks.

If you zero at 20 yds you will be about 1" high at 40-50 yds, 1" low at 70-80yds and about 4-5" low at 100 yds. This is what I have settled on for my scoped 22lr rifles.

I suggest zeroing at 20-25 yds then checking at 70-80 yds if you can. Shoot at least 5 shot groups, 10 shots is better.

For typical rimfire ranges, just keep in mind that the parallax of the scope should be at the 50 yard range or so. And, as 22-rimfire noted earlier, "yes, it does make a difference."
