I am posting this in the rifle section because this is essential a rifle, at least the guts are the same as the 10/22.
It worked fine with the stock trigger but I HAVE to mess with it so I put in a Volquartsen trigger assembly same as in my 10/22 rifle. The safety hangs up when installed, but works ok when the receiver is not in the stock. I got out the dremel and ground out the inside of the stock, just a little where I thought there was some binding, and it is easier to install into the stock now.
But the safety hangs up and even gets rotated (which I have heard can happen) but it is darn annoying and unreliable in its current state. Is there too much pressure on the trigger assembly? What am I missing? This is getting expensive and very frustrating.
