Looking into buying a Henry lever action in .22mag have it down to two models the H001TM which has the octagon barrel it cost about 395 or the model 1t001M which is the plan model cost about 363. I'm wondering if the octagon barrel improves the gun in anyway Henrys catalog say's it keeps the barrel cooler does it really do this or is more just for the old west look for cowboy action shooters. The plan model cost less and is a little shorter so unless the octagon barrel makes a diffrence in the handleing of the gun I'll get the plan one. My heart is set on .22mag so please don't argue about the .17 hmr.
