Hey y'all,

Took the 'ol Kimber Gold Match out for a spin with its 3 new Wilson 47D's...not one problem in 100 rounds.

And I learned something today, I really have a hard time shooting with standard 1911 panels, I've tried it with the stock rosewood, with some grip tape along the front for some grip, and I keep going back to a simple pair of Houges.

Also any tips for riding the safety high? I had some great tight groups, but I got a little thumb rub once on the rear serrations...or do I just have some clumsy digits?

Thanks in advance,
RFB

Hey Robert,

How're ya holding the gun when you ride the thumb safety? The thumb doesn't need to be riding against the slide, although it does happen to me sometimes. With your strong hand holding the gun, the lower portion of your palm underneath the weakside thumb should be filling in the rest of the grip area. This is the ensure that the whole 360* of the grip is covered by your hands.

We'll be back at Angeles tomorrow (sunday), info on Calguns noon time. Feel free to come by, we'll shoot 1911s. :D

The SIG Revolution Carry I had would not "run" with its factory magazines (I was unable to determine the vendor's name) and it took Wilsons to make it straighten up and fly right. For over $900 it should have come with them in the first place.
