having read a couple threads on the subject;

i coughed up $125.00 (like an idiot) for one of the used L.E. 20 rnd. during the ban period!

then did it again when i purchased 1/2 dozen of the paper thin feed lip junk mags that were on the market at that time. these things are absolutley worthless! won't feed reliably , and on a home defense weapon you can't have that.

now the ban has been gone for some time now and the 20 rnd'ers can be had for $40.00 for the same used L.E. factory mags.

i watch the A.R. shooters and envy them ,they have all of those nice surplus mags available.:banghead:for $15.00

if your an avid mini shooter there is a solution. buy the factory 5 round mags and a few of those old junker 20 or 30 round knock offs, cut he top off the junker, square it up on the sander, take the factory mag and remove the bottom, ditto the sander thing, silver solder the two together, you can use the longer spring they seem to hold up ok , use the followers from the 5 rnd.
the nice plastic bottoms from the factory 5 rnd. can be fitted to the knock off bottom with a little work. i Dura Coated mine .

they look great and function flawlessly! i got about $25.00 tied up in them with a little sweat equity.

you can find those junkers at any of the shows for a few $

1k; sorry i'm on sloooow dial up and can't up load any pics the isp bumps me before they up load!

oooh nooo.... its.... ITS...... FRAAAANKENMAAAAG!!!! Sounds like a great idea tho. If I get utterly pissed at my "el cheapo's" I'll give it a try ;).

I Had A Mini 30 I Ordered 30 Rd Magazines From Cdnn Investments And They Jammed With Wolf Ammo , So I Looked At The Action In Slow Motion It Seemed That The Bullets Were Catching On The Edge Of The Barrel Where The Rounds Go In So I Polished It With A Rubber Impregnated Wheel From About 9-3 O Clock And Made It Shinny And Went To The Range And The Magazines Now Worked Flawlessly I Even Ordered More Mags 20 Rds. It Worked As Well As An Ak And I Can Bump Fire It And It Will Not Jamm At All. also when i used hard primered ammo such as wolf it wouldnt fire as reliably as commercial ammo. my friend had the same problem you had and i polished his mini 14 and it worked .

daggerdog - you might want to start a cottage industry. ;)

Dang - I just take ProMag bodies and insert a Ruger follower in 'em. So far, they're 100%.

would like to see you felas registered on the 'PerfectUnion' Mini- page. lots of good info there.
to poster #5 did you use one of the 'cratex' brand wheels and what shape was it? this may turn out to be one of the standard tuning procedures neccesary for the M30. I've had good luck mostly with the ProMag 10 rounders and American brand 10's also.

poster#9 it was a regular dremel product it was a rubber disc with a abrasive in it it ,worked perfectly as the rubber molded itself to the breach of the barrel its a tight fit to work on so get one that will fit in your action . you wont be diappointed.
