Not sure if anyone has heard this yet, but it looks like hi-point is finally coming out with a 10mm carbine.

This sounds like it would be just about ideal in straight wall cartridge deer hunting states like Ohio. How much much more velocity could you get from 10mm in a carbine? At a minimum I think you would atleast get better accuracy in an easier to shoot platform. One of these should be just as handy with similar power as the 357 mag lever rifles Marlin no longer makes.

If they sell for the same price as the other hi-point carbines, I may have to pick one up. What do you think?

Do you reload?

Velocity gains are pretty minimal with most factory handgun rounds. A hand loader can take better advantage of the longer barrel.

That is my experience with 9mm anyway. The 10mm has a bit more capacity to play with. Even better, I suppose.

I got one of these ugly ass carbines in .45 auto...just for fun...here in Texas where I hunt it it useless but a great home defense gun (I killed a hog while ago at 450 yards with a Ruger Precision rifle in .308). last 3 years I have acquired 2 .44 mag carbines and I love them...at the cheapo price of Hi Points, I may just buy one....I'll need a 3rd guns safe anyways :)

Oh man...but 10mm starts at 27c/rd at ammoseek. Expensive to feed and I hope the chamber is well supported! Yeah and I think I talked myself out of one....I think...

Ooooo, I want! Still want a .45 carbine, but not a burning want. I have HP 9mm and .40 carbines, and they're a hoot. Almost boringly accurate.

Been finding a lot of once-fired 10mm brass at the club lately, was thinking about selling it but maybe I'd just better hang onto it.....

I thought about picking up a Hi Point in .45 for Ohio deer, so a 10mm would obviously work as well. In the end I found an 80's era Marlin lever gun in .357 for hunting and bought a Hi Point in 9mm for fun. Accuracy is better in the Marlin, but either work fine for 50 yard shots, and could probably be pushed to 100 yards if needed.

I would much prefer a marlin in 44 magnum but a 10mm carbine should work for short range deer hunting. Its more powerful than a 357 magnum. Curious on accuracy results. I think it would be about 50-75 yards max range effective.

If I had known I might have waited for them. I bought a Aero Survival rifle in 10mm. Have not shot it yet. very soon.
I do have a Hi-Point in .45 acp and the plus P stuff we load works flawlessly in it.
Looking at the tables in the book it appears that when I load for the 10 it will be about twice as fast and about 1/2 the weight of the .45 acp we load. We use 185 jhp for the .45 and they are pushing about 1000 feet per second.

Looks like a great little deersman's brush rifle that could easily pull double duty for defense in a survival situation.

Extremely cool to see this. Still wish they'd bring out one that takes Glock mags, or at least double stack mags of some kind. With the Assault Weapon Ban long sunset, one wonders "why not"?

I found some 14 round Promags for the .45 hi point. I use them all of the time now. It is to much fun to shoot. Wish the trigger did not need a brick to trip. Been to busy to pull it apart and make adjustments.

If its anything like the other hi points ive shot groups should run 2-5" or better at 50yds.....im interested to see how it all works out. While i dont think its doable as a blowback .460 rowland (or equivalent) would be even more interesting. As it stands a 10mm would be a definite step over the 9 and 45s that are popular for pig control here.

Hi Points are always so fugly but if it can take Glock mags, it might be worth it to have a companion for my G20. I always wondered why I could do with a 16 inch barrel and a 200 gr XTP. Factory loads are doing about 1200 fps from the 4.6 inch Glock barrel. The 10mm operates at 37500 PSI compared to 23000 PSI for .45 Auto +P...

I hope someone from Hi-Point is reading this thread, and hopefully they make it to production soon. This really takes the hi-point carbines from range plinkers and HD guns, to handy deer hunting carbines in a legitimate hunting caliber.

It kind of makes you wonder why they didn't make this earlier. People have been clamoring for a 10mm carbine forever, and all Hi Point needs to do is build a heavier bolt and set the headspace back on their 40 S&W carbine.

If this is real, I bet they'll sell pretty well. Not as much the 9mm carbines or anything, but there's quite a few 10mm fans out there.

The thought of a 10mm carbine that takes G20 magazines makes me drool all over my keyboard...

Do want.

I don't care for the High Point Handguns, but I could see adding the High Point 10mm rifle to my collection of guns. Thanks for sharing the video's

I can hit pop cans all day long with 9th highpoint and a scope or good red dot at 100 yards.
