I have a 4095, and bought a 995 for the grandson. No modifications, other than cheap BSA red-dots from WalMart. Great little shooters, lots of fun! That's all we wanted them for, just plinking. I wouldn't hesitate to grab the .40 for h/d, but the M1 carbine will be the first I'd grab.

Frankiestoys, that looks familiar, how did the red dot co-witness with the factory sights, should work out ok, as my setup is the same and it was pretty much dead on with only a few clicks of adjustment...........

I had exactly the same, cowitness was almost perfect, just a few adjustments, I have it laser boresighted so I will still need to fine adjust when I get it out.

My range report is good only ,1 jam in 200 rounds i think it was the mag or the reloaded 9mm . The Hi point mags are cheap and even though they are designed for 10 rounds i barely was able to load 9 . I had to remove the red dot and adjust the irons and was shooting about 4 to 5 inch groups at 50 yards. Not as good as i hoped for but i think that was more me then the gun i can't see worth a ..... with irons.
Any suggestions with the iron sights on this would be welcome.

did you leave the mags loaded for a week, to lessen the spring compression? or just cycle the rounds in and out of the mag? and can i ask what rounds you were useing just cuse i hope to get my hi point soon

No i didn't, but that may have helped, the ammo was 9mm reload i have no idea on the specks, i had it left over when i bought my p85.
I bought some new factory loads bought didn't fire any.
I had to resite in my mini for the AR vs MINI challenge so ran out of time on the 50 yrd range.( see that post)
Good luck with that HI POINT let me know when you get it.

To answer Chevy's question....

A friend of mine got the one with the new stock.

I haven't live-fired with the new stock, but it seems pretty nice.

They raised the cheek pad, and the grip feels a little more ergonomic and rugged.

oh i was just hopeing you were useing brown bears or wolf cuse i would like to hear some stories of if they work good in the hi point. and ar vs mini challenge your making me jealous i still need both of those guns.
