Hope this is the right spot for this. Long time lurker, first time poster. I bought an Accu-Match Browning Hi Power barrel and compensator. It functions great. Drops the muzzle flip down to not much more than my ruger 22/45. Accu Match has been out of business for a long time, and I haven't found much of any information or specs on them. Lone wolf had been liquidating these last year on ebay.

My question is, do any of you know what the threads on it are? I would like to find a thread protector for it, but it is a much finer thread than the 1/2 x 28 that appears to be the norm on 9mm barrels. That was what I tried first. I did try 1/2 x 36 which seemed closer, but it didn't fit either. Maybe it's metric? I don't really want to spend $10-$15 ea buying all the different sizes in the area if i can help it, and I don't have a local store that carries them to try them out.

Thanks,
Deschain_Gunslinger

I asked too soon. I got a prompt response from lonewolf. Since I hate dead end threads here you go:

"They are threaded 5/8x40, it's a very unique thread pitch

- lonewolfdist"

Glad they got you fixed up. I've heard good things about Lone Wolf's service, but I've never used them.

That sounds like a cool add on. The Hi-Power isn't exactly the most flip-happy gun around, but I bet it's a dream to shoot now. How is the added noise from the comp?

Welcome aboard!

Thanks. I didn't really notice any added noise. There probably was some. It still wasn't as loud as my m&p shield 9 which has a pretty good bark with its short barrel.

It is a dream ;). Muzzle rise is minimal. Not much more than my 22/45 target pistol. I shot it alongside another hi power and the difference is very noticeable.

The odd thread pitch is the downside. Pretty much stuck with it as it came. Still, for the $140 gamble I took on it I feel I could have done worse.

I agree, standard thread pitch would have been nice, so you could easily add a suppressor. Still sounds like a good deal.

The Hi-Power is easily one of my favorite pistols.

Enjoy!

A good machinist could make an adapter to mount any muzzle device desired to the 5/8-40 threads.
