Update: (8:50 CST) Finally, I was able to get into my Google PLUS account, which has been suspended and is apparently the source of the problem.

I took about an hour and deleted every single post there and submitted another appeal. No way there can be a Google PLUS problem now; there's nothing there. We'll see where it goes from here.

Here we go again.

While I thank all, especially grter, for at least attempting to reign in the temptation to baseless accusation and paranoia, one suggestion that's been fronted is actually worth discussion as even a stand-alone issue.

It certainly is possible to organize a small group of friends and like minded associates and flood YouTube (and other media?) with red flags on someone's account. And that can get someone's channel suspended automatically, I believe. Of course the negative complaints don't have to be true or regard any actual violation of YouTube's terms of service. But it takes time to sort that out.

I've seen YouTube regulars talk about that kind of thing, an even call their followers to take that kind of action against another channel. I know some folks who have YouTube channels and might know more about that. Lemme see what I can dig up.

I'd really be interested in whether there is any way to counter that kind of guerrilla actin or if you just have to live through it until they get bored and quit.

As the previous thread about Hickock45's account stated, we DO have alternatives to YouTube. But YouTube is the default, go-to video hosting place, and we really have no evidence yet that YouTube has an anti-gun policy and stifles anti-gun content!

Have any of you ever heard Hickock45, MAC, FPS Russia, Colin Noir, Ian at Forgotten Weapons, nutnfancy, or any of the other really prolific, really popular GUNS ONLY YouTube content makers complain that YouTube is anti gun? That YouTube is stifling them and won't let them post whatever gun content they want?

Surely if YouTube was pulling down gun content we'd have heard about it long before now. And it wouldn't be just one guy with an issue that HE'S not said is related to his gun content.

Ok, look, I'll ease up a little -- go ahead and take your pants off if you want. But lets all sit here with our pants off and actually find out what's going on before we grab the pitchforks and swarm the streets.

.
Agreed, Sam.

I have to admit I found your earlier post hilarious.

Meanwhile...

Any one *truly proficient* with the hickok45 channel content; well-versed in hickok45 lore, know if he's ever done a Ruger Gunsite Scout review? I just used the Search feature on his channel page with no results that match.

Thanks in advance.

For gun-centric videos, there's Full30.com, most of the top YouTube gun channels dual post over there. I haven't checked in awhile, but I don't think Hickok45 is on Full30. After this fiasco, I wouldn't be surprised if he made the move.

They have also blocked "teds holdover" site. Ted is a air gun guy that makes a lot of vids about air guns and hunting with them.

The First Amendment is under attack today just like the Second and Fourth Amendments.

The issue is at one time every youtube video uploade was forced to upload to google+ as well. This was maybe 4-5 years ago. We simply didn't have a choice, as we were forced to create google accounts to use youtube with and could no longer use our old youtube usernames.

I am an AMERICAN and the 2nd ammendment is part of who I AM. I will boycott google or youtube in a heartbeat and actively protest against them. Fortunately they recitified their mistake. I will not tolerate oppression of our God given rights.

Google+ is easily in the top 3 worst internet "mistakes". People generally have no idea how invasive and clunky it is from a human perspective. I swear, Google interchanges employees with Microsoft. Wait. They do.

The issue with Youtube is NOT a First Amendment issue. Even Hickock45 noted this in his video about the first outage, while making fun of all the other conspiracy theories going around that were equally invalid.

One thing I've noticed many times is that no one ever --ever -- comes back to any thread or conversation like this and says, "Woah! I was completely wrong. Wow. I said a lot of things and made a some pretty harsh accusations that appear to have been so far off base that I need to apologize to everyone for adding to the mass of total baloney bad information that's such a problem on the internet!"

Instead it's like seeing a problem resolved and everyone come out ok just adds to the depth of the huge conspiracy. Like we thwarted them THIS TIME but they're just going deeper with their subterfuge and are just lulling us into believing that the the liver spotted semi-undead hand of George Soros isn't really pulling all the strings!!!

Wonder if we'll still have the energy to fight when a REAL attack happens. We are our own boy who cried wolf.
