Hickok45 Groupies?

Hey, I got alerted. I think my ears were burning. Thanks for all the support, except all my fantasies of "groupies" have always involved hot women in short skirts screaming to break into my tour bus, not ugly guys like myself with equal amounts of gunpowder residue under their fingernails! Oh well, it's good to have people who enjoy what my son and I do, regardless of gender.

I realize that we can't please everybody, and different people are looking for different things from YouTube gun videos. Some just want a quick thrill with very little commentary; other want to learn some history and enjoy longer videos. We just have to do what we enjoy doing and let the chips fall; we actually do a variety of videos anyway, depending on my mood.

Thanks again. I used to be registered here and would pop in from time to time. Somehow, I lost my membership and had to register again. I used to prowl around lots of gun forums; it's difficult now since I spend so much time at my YouTube account.

Hickok! Count me a fan. I have never subscribed to a YouTube channel or left comments on a video. But when I start down that particular road of time-wasting, you'll be one of the first.

I've often wanted to leave a supportive comment on your videos, but was too lazy to register an account. So I guess this is it: Good stuff. Keep 'em coming! As a noobie reloader, I particularly liked your video on inspecting brass. Very informative!

Thanks Hickock you are fast, the shooting carries over to everything else we are happy you decided to come by and share some time with us, we know how busy you are now with your shows. We are an argumentative lot at times but we always try to help whoever needs it. Hope to see more of you and thanks again for responding, the Bikini clad gals will follow, just don't shoot them. So you really do read those posts.

I enjoy your videos. Make them anyway you want. Like any viewpoint there are going to be disagreements. If it's something I'm not interested in, I just don't watch it.

I'm not a particularly adept shooter. However, my family (including me) were non-shooters until recently. Your basic how-to-shoot videos were very helpful. There were other videos that did the same, but yours were less 'dogmatic'.

I always liked his range, and replicating it is the first order of buisness on a 29 acre parcel I bought last fall. Not a subscriber, but have watched enough videos to appreciate the marksmanship and the range layout.

It's nice to see that Hickock actually reads the posts on utube, I asked him to drop by, "that we were talking about him, and a day later here he is, it shows that he is a regular guy. Like Maas, who has also come when asked. Our sport is one of the few where we don't exclude people when fame and fortune comes our way, "'not mine but you know what I mean" these are regular guys that enjoy shooting, Try asking the Manning brothers if they would drop by. The mans voice has a wierd tranquilizing effect on me, I watched a video he did on M1A's after I had bought one and I remember watching the video like 30 times in a row cause his voice was making my head feel all tingly.

Also, some of the stuff you guys pull is downright hilarious (the night shooting video comes to mind). Sort of sucks you don't get much time to hang around gun forums though.

And hey, if you're looking for an idea I for one would like to see a video on that NAA Mini you have.

I don't for the life of me remember how I first heard about Hickok45 but ever since the first few videos several years ago I haven't stopped watching his channel. He's got some great stuff there! It's a great place to stop by and just relax.

Thanks for all that you've done and continue to do Hickok45, especially in regards to representing the down to earth, regular guy kinda people that the vast majority of us responsible gun owners are. It's been great to be able to share your videos with people that have previously had no experience with firearms and or adverse feelings towards them, only to come back later and find your channel in their favorites and now their asking me to take them to the range sometime.

Yeah I was just wondering who else thought he was cool. He is an expert at the bow too and has some funny zombie wacking videos that i like too. Poor fanta and mountain dew...they get lead poisoning alot on his range.

I'm not gonna lie, his video on heavy lead is what made me go out and get my 1886 turnbull 45/70. Years ago, according to his video, Hickok45 ordered his 1886 from browning sight unseen, so I figured that I better get one while the getting was good.

So when I watch youtube...which is limited overseas right now due to local govt crackdown on intenet, I also watch Sootch00 videos. I guess it's a Southern thing to make great gun videos with a down to earth personality and sense of humor .

Now if we could just get Doug Turnbull to visit Hickok45's range and see both of them shoot and review some nice levers....that would be awesome.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I forget how I even stumbled across Hickok's channel a few months ago. Honestly I never really actively looked for gun videos at all in the first place. Most I had seen where not great and only mildly entertaining at best.

Hickok45 is all kinds of awesome. I check his channel for new content a couple times a week. I could go on and on about his personality, style of presentation, etc, etc. Just better to say go check it out for yourself.

Hell I'll even listen to his radio episodes.

Awesome guy, awesome videos. I'm fine with his minor ramblings while reloading or whatever, and actually prefer it that way. The video flows way better and just feels more "natural". I notice that *a lot* of reviews where it's just spliced together action shots with some commentary just seem too disjointed. Hickok's videos are like mini documentaries with fun commentary.


As for people who think anyone with a camera can do it, I hate to say it but there's a 99.9% chance that you're one of the people who could never pull it off lol. He's got the right attitude/temperament for the job. He's got more skills than probably 95%+ of gun owners, and talks like he's just a regular joe, take his opinions with a grain of salt, etc. Whereas the vast majority of gun owners shoot average or poorly and act like they're the gods of all things firearms related (not even I, the god of all things firearm related, am entirely immune to this phenomenon ).
