So I'm in the mood for an extended tube pump-action shotgun. I'd like it to have the black-tical tactical look but have screw in chokes so i could swap out to different chokes for non-HD use when I have the need.

What are my best options here for low cost?

I don't know about low-cost, but I saw a clip on youtube from the SHOT show where the guys at the Kel Tec booth mentioned threading the barrel for choke tubes. Not the most economical shotgun at $600-$700 bills, but hella black-tical.

Otherwise, the only short-barreled options I can think of are the CZ 712 Sport/Utility shotgun or one of the Remington or Mossberg turkey guns. THey typically have a 22" barrel or so and accept choke tubes. That CZ is surprisingly affordable considering that it's a semi.

you can usually find an H&R Pardner Pump for under $100 used. I got mine from a pawn shop for that, and yes, it's a chinese knockoff of a Remington 870, but y'know what? I tactical'd mine out, and I'm still under budget for what it would cost for me to get one like it new, and it's exactly the way I like it. Everytime I pick it up it brings a smile to my face.

Did I mention that 99% of Remington 870 parts fit. I believe only the barrel is different, and the reciever is a tad bit wider, due to having more meat on its bones.

Maverick 88 security by Mossberg = $180
ATI Tactical pistolgrip 6 position stock $65
Heat shield with ghost rings sights = $30

Uber-tactical black 9 round shotgun = $275, give or take.

I would definitely consider checking pawn shops for a good used 18-20 inch barreled 870 or Mossburg 500. Extra barrels with an vent rib and removable chokes can be had for a steal.

can anybody identify the shotgun that was briefly shown on the outdoor channels "Impossible shots" ?/
I just caught it out of corner of my eye, looks like it had a rotary-clip on fore-end of gun ?
It looked like he was pumping out 12-15 rounds ! (In case i get jumped by a roving gang of canadian geese)

Start with one of the traditional pump shotguns from Remington, Winchester, Benelli, or Mossberg.

If you still want to be able to use chokes, you'll probably have to buy a gun with a 20" barrel and a vent rib.

Once you've done that, order a Nordic Components extension tube.

Consider getting one of the barrel clamps to go with it as well.

Keltec KSG... 14+1 tactical shotgun.....friend of mine ordered one, so apparently they are taking orders now even if its not released yet
