High Standard A1041 BBL Removal?

I have a Sears 25 / High Standard A1041 that has a broken or missing top ramp spring. I have a new spring, and am attempting to remove the barrel to install it. I have removed the two roll pins, and the barrel moves pretty freely for the first 1/16" - 3/32" and then gets tight again. Is there some trick to removing the bbl from the receiver, or does it just need more force applied? I have not removed the trigger group or feed ramp assembly at this time as I could not see how that was keeping the bbl from being removed. Could it be the bbl needs to be rotated in the receiver for removal?
