High Standard Double Nine... need help choosing

A local guy is selling a High Standard Double Nine for $200. It looks to be in pretty good shape with nice bluing and aftermarket grips. I love revolvers, and I've been wanting a .22LR wheelgun for plinking. Is the High Standard worth $200? Do any of you guys have opinions on them, good or bad? I was thinking about picking up the Taurus .22LR wheelgun, but this High Standard seems like a decent option. It's hard to tell their value from GunBroker, as ending auction prices are all over the place.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I don't have any experience with the gun, so I'm wondering how it rates in comparison to other .22LR wheelguns.

If your gonna keep it it's a fair price. they are a decent well made firearm. If your buying as an investment save your money.

Maybe it was just my bad luck, but I have owned four or five Hi-Standard Sentinel and Double-Nine revolvers over the past 50 years, and none of them where even close to as accurate as a S&W, Colt, or Ruger .22 revolver.

I relegated every one of them to the noise-maker category, and rather quickly traded them off.

Never owned one, but back in the day the High Standard .22 revolvers were a notch or three below Rugers and S&W. But no doubt better than the Iver Johnson Trailsman 66 that was my first handgun in 1960. I'd pay $200 for one in decent shape for a plinker.
