High Standard Duramatic- Hard chrome?

I recently acquired this rather nice condition old High Standard Duramtic M100.
This is the first one I've seen with this finish. Anyone ever seen one in stainless? Or maybe is it hard chrome? It's not glossy/shiny like nickel or bumper-chrome.

Looks to be some sort of hard chrome finish, like that on my Beretta Model 70S by Ron Mahovsky at Metalife. I don't believe any of the later manufacturers of the High Standard guns made a Duramatic version in stainless steel.
